Little Busters! All of the characters had good development and there was a reason behind everything, including why all the characters act the way they do. Plus a bunch of really good foreshadowing involving the overarching plot of the show. It was just really smartly written and I found all of the characters really likable when it was all said and done. And the main thing is, it just had such an amazing theme and it did a great job at portraying it. Plus, just so much feels...And it all comes with a freaking great OST. It's the only show I feel completely comfortable giving a 10/10 really.

Im a sucker for a good romance series, that being said I would have to say Ano Natsu de Matteru. Amazing animation, plot, characters, and music.

Its either between School Days or Cory in the House.

EDIT — To give a real answer to the title question: I pick Saikano (or She, the Ultimate Weapon, depending on the translation). If you want a show that will hit you hard with the feels and not pull any punches, it is that one.

When I think masterpiece, Shinsekai Yori is definitely the first thing that comes to mind. I just feel almost every aspect of that anime is done so well, the music, the art/animation, the characters, and all the subtle stuff. I could probably be more specific, but I would just end up writing a full review of it, so I'll just stop.

While Hajime no ippo is the true flawless masterpiece of anime, I'll just exclude it since minority even heard of it :(

Other than that, it's a tie between Steins gate, Madoka magika Rebellion and Tsukimonogatari

Specials / Movies:

Death Billards
Grandfather's Lamp
Furiko
Spirited Away
Time of Eve
The House of Small Cubes/ Tsumiki no Ie

Series:

Kaiba

I'm surprised no one tried putting in Me!Me!Me! yet on this forum although we already have Cory in the House and others so it shouldn't be too far off.

I'll see your Kaiba and raise you a Tatami Galaxy.

Probably the only show I ever finished without any major thing to complain about. Kaiba's a good choice as well though.

Gonna go with Steins;Gate and FMA Brotherhood. Although I'd give Garden of Sinners an honorable mention
