My choice would probably be Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. It always felt on point, mixing a perfect blend of comedy, drama, and tragedy.

The Monogatari series is a masterpiece to me. It's got a very unique style that I enjoy. It has a good balance of action and humor too. The characters are all so fascinating too. Plus the story draws me in and is something I can watch nonstop.

No one else has brought it up, but I would say "The Wallflower" was a masterpiece. Especially for the romantic comedy genre.

Erased is probably the best anime I've ever seen. It does have a few problems, but it was just amazing. I would also say Your Lie in April but that one is pretty well known already.

This is where I include my standard exhortation to play the amazing VN if you enjoyed the anime. You can get it from Steam.

Little Busters! All of the characters had good development and there was a reason behind everything, including why all the characters act the way they do. Plus a bunch of really good foreshadowing involving the overarching plot of the show. It was just really smartly written and I found all of the characters really likable when it was all said and done. And the main thing is, it just had such an amazing theme and it did a great job at portraying it. Plus, just so much feels...And it all comes with a freaking great OST. It's the only show I feel completely comfortable giving a 10/10 really.

Glad to see another big fan of little busters as it seems to be the least popular or watched out of the key adapations. Few things could have been done a little better in the first season regarding some of the drama involving the girls but other then that its in my top 10 favorite anime.

For me a few that come to mind would be Madoka Magica, Serial Experiments Lain, and Paranoia agent/pretty much all the Satoshi Kon movies. Also for the comedy genre I think Nichijou and YuruYuri were done extremely well

Umineko When They Cry

I'm kind of cheating with this one. While the anime itself did seemingly end the story and quite well it kind of made me think and make me want to go back and read the light novels and manga to see what happened after the anime. Well A LOT happened after that and made me love it all the more. I truly don't know how much of it is my love for the anime itself or how much of it is my love for the whole package (which is why I said I'm kind of cheating here). The characters were both strong and full of personality, the storyline had me guessing right until the very end and both anime and paper version (light novel/manga) made me extremely satisfied with their endings (although they were both completely different ).

I know I might get blasted for this, but I'd have to say Outlaw Star would be one of the masterpieces that comes to mind
