When it brings people together like in this movie, then I guess one white lie is okay . . .

Almost never.

Lying itself is not the issue, it's the intentions behind it that are potentially immoral, troublesome, etc.

I lie very often about insignificant things for various reasons that are not bad for anyone and makes nearly no difference either way. I refuse to lie for the sake of trying to gain ground unfairly, trying to get away with something, trying to cause general mayhem, or some other things that are overall not good.

It's never ok but everyone lies. We're all liars and that's the truth.

I don't know >.>, I always feel bad even if I only lie about something silly.

I find lying 100% unacceptable but what you can do is mental reservation which is NOT a lie (in most circumstances although you can really stretch it and then it becomes a lie.

i.e.

Homeless dude asks you for 'a few cents or a buck' to 'ride the bus'

me: Sorry, I have no cash. (and in my head I add 'to give you)

I usually do this when I know someone is going to abuse my kindness; and then my kindness is not theirs to have.

Someone: do you know where so-and-so-is?
(when so-and-so told me not to tell that certain 'someone' that she went somewhere')

me: "Wish I could tell you. What's wrong?" etc.
