Post Reply Rape victim's baby is stolen from her arms 51 hours after birth by DHR

Under suspicion of abuse or inability to provide proper care is not stealing. It's taking action. More child services around the world should follow their lead, IMO. It's about time, really.

Pressing out for ...$? (in either end?)

Read the Facebook discussion if you want. I'm not comfortable airing out the circumstances of a 14 year old rape victim on a web forum.

Its bad enough the op is doing it.

I find this bit of the article odious

but she courageously chose life for the baby

Somehow pregnancy which is a natural part of life is considered courageous. Don't tell me what the author would consider not courageous, I think I have an idea.

I find your opinion equally odious.

Can we stop with the hypocrisy? If everyone in this forum feels that is ok to talk about different rape cases, because these people are 18 or older. You guys need to look yourselves in the mirror.

Honestly, you are saying that after all the absurdity that goes on in this world? I hope is fake but this looking like child services being assholes again to me.

I fail to see any hypocrisy in discussing a rape case of an adult vs airing out the identity and confidential details of the rape case of a minor in protective services custody. Where the legal protections of the subject in question are there to shield them and are the very reason why the story exists in the first place.

Protective services in Alabama can take a child into custody without a warrant if there is an unacceptable risk to the child providing they put forth their reasoning within 72 hours. But more importantly, if the family of the girl was supposedly not given a a reason it means the family is the reason. It was not just the baby taken into custody, but the girl and her brother as well.

That the family ( and the prolife groups behind them ) are willing to identify an underage rape victim to generate public outcry to push their side of the story in a situation where the other side cannot legally be told is telling that there is likely far more too this.

Childbirth is a natural occurrence. it is not a miracle, or a gift, or a courageous act. Those who give birth are not heroes simply cause they bear a child.

Oh, I like this bit.

UPDATE 6/16/2016

Since this story was published, it has now gone viral on social media, and is expected to be read by more than 1 million people in the next day or so.

Many people have asked questions that we want to address in this update. First, a common comment is “there must be more to the story.” Yes, in all of these medical kidnapping stories, there is always “more.” But what we strive to do at Health Impact News is stick to the facts. The facts in this particular story are based on eye-witness accounts who were present at the hospital on the day this event occurred. DHR, as well as all “Child Protective Services” around the country, refuses to comment on these cases. So anything other than what we have reported here is speculation.

Many have asked why the local media will not report on this story. That is a great question. The answer is pure speculation. Are there financial connections, for example, between the media and the hospital in this story, or other local connections applying pressure to not report on this story? We don’t know. Local media is reportedly telling readers that there is “more to the story” and that it is not worth reporting. Really?? If you work for one of the local mainstream media outlets in the Birmingham Alabama area, and want to “blow the whistle” on why this story is being censored, please contact us. We will keep your identity confidential, if that is requested.

Anything other than what we have told you from our unverified sources is just speculation! Now let us tell you some speculation about our conspiracy theories.

Sounds suspiciously pro-lifey. Ebil government steals miracle rape baby and hero mother in retaliation for Facebook posts?

I can't find any reliable source for the story. To quote WBRC Fox 6:

Based on information we have gathered this does not warrant a story at this point.

As for the whole "no reason" thing. She's 14 and its protective services. Its literally illegal for them to publicly provide information about the case. I seriously question even posting the pic/video of a 14 year old rape victim.

The first thing I thought was 'Why on earth is her photograph included?'.

As has been said, I'd be shocked if the story is as transparent as this. Not that anyone should be trying to learn the details - the girl is 14.
