I really like being able to access anime on my Apple TV, so to me the $7 is worth it. I also don't have traditional cable and just use CR, Netflix and a digital antenna. And no ads! $7 is cheap if you really think about it. You could easily spend that once at McDonald's.

So true. I usually stream anime through PS4 to TV and crunchyroll is great for that. $7 is the money that i spend on lunch every day. So I just pays for it even if I may not be watching all the shows. I don't have cable, just Netflix and Crunchyroll, so it is like $20 a month i spend for TV.

Really depends on your country and budget but it can be really good value if your in the right place.

does CR have the majority of anime you're interested in watching?
no → not worth it.
yes → would you rather pay to remove ads, and want to support the industry / want to watch legally only?
→→no → probably not worth it.
→→yes→ do you watch a lot of anime (mostly mainstream)?
→→→→no → not worth it
→→→→yes → might be worth it (assuming you don't get playback issues)

Well if you prepay for the year then its more than worth cause it amounts to only $5/mo. For as big as their catalog is and you get to watch new episodes sooner id say its more than a fair price. hell its a steal.

if you're only interested in a limited number of series, and if the series is already released in bluray for cheap, then buying them might be the better option (+ better quality / no need to deal with buffering)

I think it depends really, if they have a lot of the series that you like and they're simulcasting it then yes.
I've cancelled my subscriptions plenty of times when the anime of the past seasons didn't interest me

It has reliable service for the most part and has shows in excellent quality in a timely manner, also they have a good backlog.

For US/Canada I would say it definitely is, if you are from another country, it's really up to how many licenses they are getting for your area at the time.

For me in Canada it is 100% worth it. Otherwise I wouldn't be using this website at all.

As of Febuary of 2016 they changed their Terms of Use for Canada. Essentially any content older then IIRC 16 weeks was no longer made available to free users in Canada. So even though this website doesn't have every anime I watch, it has a good amount of them, and a lot on my list are older series too.

So I mainly pay for the service because I have to pay for it to watch the series I want to watch legitimately. Now if only their collection was larger I would be so happy. (Several series on my list are not available here, or anywhere really. Least not the normal official channels, some I need to get the DvDs for others are simply not licensed in North America period. Edit: And for the ones available on DVD only I want to be able to check out at least the first few episodes to decide if it is worth buying or not.)

I pay for mine because I can actually watch a whole series. Watching Cardcaptor Sakura is what made me get my membership. I was having a nostalgic moment and binge watched Cardcaptor Sakura but without premium you could only watch a certain amount of episodes so I signed up and have been loving it ever since.

Even though in reality I don't have much time to watch anime Ive noticed my list grow a lot and its much easier than finding links for shows. Plus to be honest, I feel happy for trying to support the anime community since so many people just stream now a days and don't pay for it anymore which is causing a lot of pain in the industry. I used to not think that way but now i'm happy to do my part

Yes. When not watching on premium I have to watch the same damn ad about a dozen times. My membership just expired, so I won't watch anything until I renew it.

I think it depends whether they have the series you like or not. If so, then yes. Dealing with the ads was bad, I felt like it was worse than watching something on TV sometimes. Maybe I'm just used to recording stuff and watching it later? Hmm. Either way, you can try the trial first, then decide for yourself. I think it's all preferences though.

premium since about last year. £4.99 for 1080p streams, that's all shows, no question! no annoying ads every few minutes into an episode, getting new episodes when their new and browsing everything they have on the manga page, I've been reading about 3 at any time and I never really looked for manga outside of about 3 shows before this site. for me, it's definitely been worth it
