Post Reply Is Crunchyroll Premium worth the money?
Posted 6/21/16
I would pay for it if the ads really annoyed me... The shows here are pretty good in my opinion!!! But I've never experienced anime at a higher quality than SD so I don't know what people are talking about!!! Plus, during Crunchyroll ads, I just read a random article or browse some other things before getting back to the show . To each his own.

Such a fucking stupid comment.

yeah exactly
I WANT TO WATCH ANIME LEGALLY, ON A HORRIBLE 36OP QUALITY STREAM!!
OH, WAIT, THESE SITES OF DUBIOUS LEGALITY HAVE FREE FANSUB VERSIONS THAT ARE 720-1080P!

BUT I HAVE TO BE LEGAL..... GUESS I'LL STAY WITH THAT CRAPPY 360P STREAM THAT'LL BE SO PIXELATED ON MY MONITOR WHEN I FULLSCREEN IT!

That not the reason I say that thought. Everything, where I live, is 11 percent tax. You buy a game and it cost 70 or more. You need groceries well I hope you like noodles. Oh, you need gasoline well I hope you got 50 for barely half the tank. Oh, look a the electric bill, is nearly 300 fucking dollars for 2 people living there. Especially when they barely consume electricity at all.

Don't blame you, when I was a broke college student I couldn't really cough up the money either. People don't realize that even people who watch for free are most likely to dump plenty of money into light novels, manga, dvds and cosplay, if not now down the road.

Meh, I think a CR subscription is only worth it if:

1. You are one of those people who has to watch their anime in the best quality possible.
2. You are one of those impatient people who hates ads and/or isn't willing to wait a week to watch the newest episodes.
3. One of the anime/dramas you want to watch are one of those few that you have to have a subscription to watch the whole thing (I don't know about dramas, but the vast majority of anime on CR you can watch the whole thing for free (without a subscription). There is only a handful of series that you do have to have a subscription).
4. You want to read manga on CR. (unlike anime, the majority of manga on CR require a subscription, which sucks in my opinion)

I think that CR's sd quality (which is what free users like myself have to use) is perfectly fine (especially since I have been to other sites that had far worse quality). I'm also a patient person (I don't mind ads (as long as they work and don't get hung) and I'm fine with waiting a week (I usually wait until a series is over before I watch it anyways, with some exceptions). The only reason I would consider paying for a subscription is for the manga, and even then, their selection of manga isn't that big (and they are lacking my favorite genre). Besides I'm a cashist (I only pay with PHYSICAL MONEY, not digital transactions or credit cards) so I can't get a subscription anyways.

I literally don't know why I'm still paying for this modafucker, ... when I'm completely tired of trying to fix the issue of having the videos halt in the middle of playing. No need to tell me to go to support, I'm done.

It's probably your conection speed. Once the buffer loads so far there has to be playback or the buffer will freeze. This is probably whats happening. Sometimes the player thinks theres no playback and will stop the buffer. It is a bad issue and crunch needs to fix it, but that is also how they inforce the drm so people don't download shows and put them on torrents. You win some you loose some. Just refresh your page after the video hangs for more than 3 seconds. I also found that exiting full screen within a second or two of the hang sometimes fixes the problem. Playback issues occure more often where adds would be placed in non premium member streams.

crunchryoll is HD and costs about the same of one lunch per month. there are other legal websites that aren't "dubious" by any means and supported by ads. you can buy american dvds which are cheaper than buying in japan or buying on blue ray.

and yes, budgeting is important.

Some seasons I sure regret it.

Its also easier than managing 20+ different torrents. Its a shame that I also have to pay for funmation for the few shows CR doesn't get.

Kabenari was an instant torrent, because i'm not paying for a third service for 1 damn show. screw you amazon.

Again with the stupid comment. Listing budgeting doesn't just work because you fucking want it to work. 2 You may enjoy subpart quality. But unless is Hulu or Daisuki I am going the pirate way. No way in hell I am watching anime 420P just for the sake of doing things right.
Money that can be spent helping pay the fucking bills. Stupid comment. I hope you get hit by poverty and get stuck in it for 20 years on it.

crunchryoll is HD and costs about the same of one lunch per month.

Listing unless you suffer from retardation. What fucking part of paying bills don't you get? Also, why in the fucking hell will I pay for subpart content I haven't even fucking watch? I only buy DVD OR BLUE RAY after having fucking watch the anime.

you can buy american dvds

And don't fucking reply back to me unless you find a Blu ray for a 1 dollar of something I have watched before.

Also, I don't live in America and importing shit cost money. So fuck no to DVD AND BLUE RAY.

It's good if you don't want to see ads and you also get a nifty little icon. but beside that it depends if you want to spend or not.

Sometimes the content is kind of slim; but over all much much better than Funi.
