I was just curious since I started to think about this because of another thread, if there's anyone else out there who doesn't have a specific dream or aspiration? I have a general dream of meeting the one I can love, and all that, but those are basically human nature.

I really don't have a dream. I want money, but I was never able to figure out what I WANTED to do or be. I am interested in all this different stuff, but to the point that it seems like not one thing takes priority for me, in fact, I can't commit to anything in this sense either.

It's not for laziness, it's not just because "the man" got me down, or the world is such a dismal place - I do think it's important to have a passion and to have something that drives you to be better, but I've always, ALWAYS been "like whatever".

If you were to ask me where I wanted to go on vacation? I might have some general guidelines but my answer is still "wherever. I certainly don't want any physical possession that I don't already have, not specifically. I would enjoy upgrading my PC, though there's literally only one or two parts that aren't top of the line, but that doesn't approach dream level. It's just a hobby... I do love my hobby but feel it should stay a hobby so I can love it to the extent which I desire.

I really feel the only thing that could give me something resembling a dream is falling in love, perhaps. Even then, there's no guarantee I'd find that drive. Guess this makes me indecisive. Am I allowed to say my dream is to obtain a dream?

Anyone else this way or am I a freak?

|||EDIT|||

Upon a little more thought, I feel like I may have not developed a "dream" because almost everyone around me from Grades 2-12 discouraged or talked shit about anything and everything I showed interest in and made a mockery of it. I think that might have given me some kind of complex where I am afraid to fully invest myself in something. Maybe I'm thinking a little too deeply - I'm not the haunted type. I think about things in the past, but I know what's true about myself and what isn't - but I still feel like it played a major part in my current uh, state.

I have no aspirations, ambitions, or dreams. It bothered me at some point in my life, but not so much these days.

I don't really think I have any dreams or aspirations. I'll be moving in the spring across the country and I don't particularly know what I'll be doing from there because I didn't even think this was a thing I'd be doing in my life to begin with. So I'm just kinda going with the flow and seeing where life takes me at this point, which isn't a bad thing at all I don't think.

Never had such a thing.

Just finding enjoyment as I go along. Having a "dream" is like putting all your eggs in one basket.

I never knew what I wanted to be, still don't, there's just nothing I want to do, I work retail atm simply for the money. To be perfectly honest I'd rather just do nothing but games and anime my whole life but sadly that will get me neither money nor a girlfriend so I guess I'm just stuck working retail for now so no you're not alone my friend

I don't want a particular career

I just want to find my own home and have my stories be shared with the world

Anyway, yes, your dream is to find a dream, so you technically do have one

Sorta, I had a dream what I wanted to be, but things changed so many times. right now I really don't know where I want to end out, but am searching for a meaning or purpose in this thing called life, so I'm just following my heart and walking an unknown journey at this stage.

I want to live a happy and easy life. Though I do not want to fall into normalcy, I need to have to some excitement. One one hand I want to be Tanaka-kun and on the other I want to be Rock from Black Lagoon.

You're right, that's not a bad thing. I don't exactly dislike the fact that I don't have a dream, but it can leave me feeling a little directionless at times... but in the end all I really want is to get some enjoyment out of my life, some how some way.

Heh, I like that viewpoint. I guess that's how I go through my life too, at least these days. It's all about enjoyment in the end, that's all I will really care about once it's all said and done. If I don't enjoy myself in that time it will have truly been a waste - fortunately it's not.
