So It's summer and I got time and want to watch some good anime. I don't know if I'm interested in any of the new series this season....

I just binge watched Knight of the Area and was disappointed by the ending. I don't care if it's a new or old anime as long as it's not mecha/harem. I've watched most of the popular sports/shounen anime.

Some titles I enjoyed:

Gintama
SNAFU
Monthly Girl's Nozaki-kun
Space Brothers
Nobunaga Concerto
Kids on the Slope
Gatchaman Crowds

Thanks!!

I can only think of a few titles because I don't like romantic comedies, but I'll try and do my best.

If you liked Kids on The Slope, try Samurai Champloo. It's directed by the same guy, Shinichiro Watanabe, most famous for directing Cowboy Bebop.

If you want an over the top show like Gintama, try Kill la Kill or JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. These are a lot more focused in action instead of comedy, and both can get really violent but are incredible entertainment.

For a show similar to Gatchaman Crowds, try Tiger & Bunny.

And returning to Gintama, if you want something that has similar comedy, then you can watch Beelzebub, Daily Lives of Highschool Boys and Sakamoto Desu ga.

I actually prefer action/adventure/mystery in anime! Good plots and characters. I listed the more "indie" tastes of mine, but if you have any good action animes I'm all for it!

If you're interested in action and a good plot, like Perks said, definitely check out Baccano. The characters, soundtrack, and plot are all fantastic in my opinion. Definitely well worth the watch considering I've rewatched it at least 4 times. If you do decide to check it out, I highly recommend you watch the dud since they nail the 1930s New York gangster accents. I know lots of dubs have a terrible rap, but Baccano is not one of them.

I also see you don't have Fullmetal Alchemist on your list, another fantastic anime that's at the top of my list. There's Fullmetal Alchemist and Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood btw. FMA is the original and FMAB is the remake that improves on the original so I would watch Brotherhood over the original.

Other notable animes would be
Last Exile
Trigun
Mushishi (No real action and is episodic but has a very creative world and beautiful art)
Erased
and Nichijou (Don't expect plot, but goddamn is this anime hilarious)

I've moved this over to the Advice, Info, Recommendations forum.

I recommend Steins;Gate also, even though it took me three tries to get into it and it wasn't until I finally made it to episode 8 that I got hooked. It can look slightly haremy at first, but it gets deeper plotwise and romancewise later on.

I also strongly recommend Showa Genroku Rakugo Shinju

If that's the case then you need to watch Kill la Kill and JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. You said you already watched most of the popular shonen titles, so I'm guessing you already saw Hunter X Hunter and Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, but if you haven't then I can't recommend these four enough.
