So, here's a question, would you rather get graced by someone's natural bad breath or lesser bad breath + vinegar aroma?

But yes, good thing we went rather far in this respect. Even if I'm not sure why people go comically far with their "American teeth" and bleach them untill they can blind people in sunny weather. White teeth, yeah, that's good, but I don't think they are supposed to be the whitest white of the white shiny. :D

Just that White Teeth show that you're healthy and clean.. When you see someone with bad teeth don't that make you feel sick. By the way do you noticed lot of Movie stars got perfect teeth? From what I read recently its because they all got False Teeth! =0 I thought its because they can afford a Dentist to clean and fix their real teeth not pull them all out and replace them with fake shiny whitest Teeth in the land! XD

To answer your question.. Well I supposed that if you're living in old day and use to see all kind of gross thing.. Probably wouldn't matter, I would think everyone got bad breath! XD Of course I assumed Lesser bad breath + vinegar aroma is like brushing your teeth in modern day otherwise it'll be same rarely brushing your teeth!

Well, sure, healthier, but americans (as general as that is) are kinda known for taking the 'white' step further to the "Yeah, that is not what teeth should looks like." territory. Natural, perfectly clean teeth, much like *cough* fresh bones are supposed to have a hint of yellowish tint, so making the 100% white seem unnatural and fake, because it actually is just that. A good paralel would be people who had multiple plastic surgeries done on their face. You just can plainly see this is not something nature and care did. :D

I actually know of a few people who got their teeth pulled, despite having all their teeth and in almost perfect health and replaced with implants to achieve "perfection". It's very expensive and painful and in my humble opinion borderline insane, just as much as people who feel the need to remove their other bodyparts. So yeah, it's a thing, and I'm not honestly sure if doctors should be allowed to do it, unless there is at least one resonable medical reason, besides "Damn, I make 1000€ per tooth on this!".

The Elizabethans and those that followed rare if at all had portraits painted with smiles. It's good to have healthy teeth but excessively whitened teeth aren't necessarily healthy. Sometimes the whitening process takes off too much enamel leaving the teeth more vulnerable and extra sensitive. Then you're back at the dentist to fix that new problem created just for the bright flashing smile.

If you read the Japanese classic "The Tale of Genji" you will find out that Japanese women in the early era (around 1,000 AD) blackened their teeth. You can also see this in Miyazaki's movie "The Tale of the Princess Kaguya"
