Nissan Skyline GTR
Posted 3/26/08
well i did drive the R34 in japan when i was there...it did blow my mind away. but after a while and u get past all the hype and excitement it feels like a lot of cars i already drove. like the evo, felt like a much better machine overall than the gtr. but still i cant wait to drive the new skyline and see how it is.
Posted 3/26/08
oh, i also hate all these cars with tooooo much technology to make the driver fell like he's worth something. what ever happened to actually being good at driving and learning how to drive and techniques?
thats why the first car i had was a integra R and i decided to buy a sti over the evo cuz the sti didnt come any of that tech crap u actually had to work to get good at driving!!!

ya so many of my friends likes SKYLINE. always looking at craiglist to see if theres skyline for sale.- - '' omg..
yeah.. hahaha

yes, Canada has an import ban on any vehicle imported that is less than 15 years since manufacture date. America has the same restriction only they set it to 5 years. Hence the whole Evo X being first to canada.

It really sucks that we had to miss out on the Lancer Evo8.

Wow 15 years ... Singapore is only limited to 3 years .. really sucks !

Does singapore have its own car manufacturers?

In North america GM (owns Ford, Saturn, Hummer, Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Pontiac, Saab) and Chrysler (owns Jeep, Dodge, and Smartcar) made most of the cars in north america, Before the Japanese and European Markets came in and ruined the USDM business, Lots of people are getting laid off and car planets have been shut down due to lack of sales for USDM vehicles and the companies who aren't USDM making the cars in their country than shipping them over because outsourcing is too costly. Now Japanese car dealers (specifically Toyota with most sales/leases/financing per year) are dominating the car market in America.

Nope Singapore dosen't have car manufacturers... currently alot of people buy toyota cars and since cars that are released over 3 years cant be imported thoese cars like mustangs rx7s are quite rare in Singapore .. and we have no Supras and only 2 Enzo Ferraris ... sucks real bad

well Mustangs aren't the best of cars, rx7 have rotary engine which you need to maintain alot. It burns more oil than piston engines and tends to over heat way quicker than a piston engine. supras are over-rated and as for Ferrari Enzo, well the price you pay for that, you could get 2 Porsche Carrera or just buy a cheap car and make over the 800 whp that the enzo has. =p

Well maybe you're right but what I'm trying to point out is that MOST of the cars in Singapore are just your everyday city car like toyota , hyundai and hondas . As far as I know we don't even have a Porsche Carrera ( the GT version ). But its somehow good cause my friend always ask me this question ... " How fast could you go on Singapore roads ? "

Nothing,...it is just over hyped because its coming to America for the first time.

it's not because it came here for the first time. If you do your research SKyline been in america for a while but was discontinued after nissan refuse to put a limit lock on the skyline (basically the car will out run most police cars) but new contract came in around 08 or 09 so now skyline are in the america. but whats so great is the car is great at handling not only that it can match with Ferrari and lambo. while those two are v12 gtr is twin turbo v6. half the engine yet can beat a v12. you tell me.

by the way since day 1 of GTR all engine from skyline are build by hand. so no gtr engine are quite the same <3 yes their freaking fun to sit in and freaking fun to go around the corner

a evo at a tight corner? cool
a sti at a tight corner feels great!
a gtr at a tight corner? what corner? I thought it was a straight line.

I will tell you that you need to get at your dealer. It would seem he's been mixing B.S. in with the weed he sells you. j/k. But seriously, the GTR beating an Aventador? No way, no how.
