I think the real question is, "Would one wear a trenchcoat with nothing underneath to say surprise to their lover?"

I don't wear mine because it never rains here much and it's almost always hotter than the Sun itself. Last year of high school I wore two different ones through as much of the year as possible.

So, yeah. They're just hot.

For some reason this whole thread reminds me of George of the Jungle where Max says to Thor, "Didn't I tell you not to wear twenty pounds of black leather in the jungle? Didn't I tell you? Cotton, I said. Cotton breathes."

does clothing NEED to be practical?

Also the stigma only really exists in America as i have never heard of it where i live :P

not sure why people see it as edgy it looks cool.

Any clothing that is cool or stands out people call edgy ...not sure why but its stupid as fk in my opinion for all good clothing to be "Edgy"

Im getting one myself and i'm 7'10 and a bit overweight not that it matters xD if there are better looking coats i would love to be told because most stuff looks plain and only goes for practicality which imo is STUPID

It doesn't need to be practical no, but there's also no sense sweating your balls off just to try and look cool.

Edgy just means someone is trying too hard to be cool in way that stands out or they think showcases how original they are. ;p

Well, you have the height for it. Just please God don't add a fedora.

oh god fedoras e.e

I think Fedoras are classy. Some men, not old ones as suggested, wear them well. Just like any accessories, not everyone can wear it and look good. If you want to stand out, do so with class, regardless what folks on this site think. Be you!

Cotton is the fabric of our lives, though, so it's no surprise. Plus, 20 pounds of black leather really doesn't breathe.
That said, it wasn't his worst movie. Sadly.

I see guys that wear suits wearing trenchcoats. It depends on the quality and style of it, but I'm sure it's more for colder weather protection. I wear a short one if I'm wearing a dress or skirt on a cold day.

Some people look extremely shady with a trenchcoat on, especially when they look unkempt.

I have two of them and I wear them when the weather is cool. This time of year it's just to warm for them. I've always liked them however.

Most of them are banned in schools in Colorado ever since Columbine
Though I do have a coat it's more of a pea coat and people don't look twice at me, my friend wears a trench coat and she turns a lot of heads but for the wrong reasons

Mainly because they are associated with strange people who wear fedoras, and they are needlessly heavy. Just like this beauty I found on the forum ages ago:
