science cant transfer your soul no matter how far we go with technology so it will only be a cheap copy, you will not be there, your memories will

I so agree to this *nod nod* Soul's are our own mirror's that reflect life.(<- What in the world did I just write ^^||) It cannot be transferred... 'it wouldn't be you

when or if that becomes possible, all sorts of things will be easier to accomplish

one would be the colonization of moons or other planets(assuming we have the technology to reach Mars, effectively)
well, just think about it. send in cloning vats with like hundreds of workers over a period of time(years and decades)

those workers will build like a shelter or something
try to get plants to grow on the planets and moons

if we can ressurect ourselves, we should be able to "ressurect" 'dead' planets and moons
that'll solve over-population a bit. but hey, in a few hundred years. who knows,, maybe mars will be like earth
i don't think we should fully colonize the moon though, we don't know what could happen.

anyway. i would so kill for that "immortality"
not literally ofcourse.. just a figure of speech, but don't get me wrong, i know i can kill people easily(cold heartedly) but why should i? anyway.. what's so wrong about it?

so you postponed your trip to heaven.. well, sad to say, but the "immortal" is the one missing out
so you postponed your trip to hell.. ok. so you beat the gods.. if they are angered, then well. those high beings will probably destroy everything we know
so you postponed your own death and non-existance..you beat everything...possibly even time itself

if it's wrong, then dammmmn it must be the best feeling in the world, if we go by saying "it's wrong, but damn it feels good"

immortality...honestly everyone has this part of themselves that would crave it, we by nature fear death the very thought of surpassing this would drive others to feats of madness...so i would say that regarding this scenario i am torn between two sides, a part of me would want it, to be able to live indefinitely to be able to experience things your past "life" didnt, to be able to make up for the mistakes of yesterday...but also a part of me would reject it knowing that one would outlive your love ones i know it would drive me crazy...thats why until one could truly weight the pros and cons of this one shouldnt just dive right in...

It would be unbearable. Imagine being 'unable' to die, then there would be no reason to things to be imperiative. You could just wait forvever to do something. No one would be compelled to do anything. And life would seem worthless if you have theoretically live forever.

huh that would be kinda weird and cool to be back alive but the clone wont be really urself since the clone might have ur thoughts and memories but not ur soul
Posted 2/16/08
hmm no, its imposible to copy memories the only way to make an exact copy is by digitalizing it (imo) wich is imposible for memories.

I'd imagine immortality, especially one attached to a mortal world, would be a pretty lonely, tiresome thing. Quoth the Mercury Man: Who wants to live forever?
