What are some weird/ridiculous things you waste money on? Being an anime fan doesn't always come cheap. I spent thousands over time on dvds, manga, figurines and all that. The most ridiculous purchases I can think of though is spending $100 on some key chains, ordering an insane amount of Japanese candy after watching Dagashi Kashi....honestly I have a long history of outrageous purchases. But I want to hear about purchases other people found ridiculous.

At this point in time I'd probably have to go with my Xbox One as I never use the darn thing.

In 2013 I was at the MTS center in Winnipeg, where the Roar of the Rings curling tournament was being held. I got hungry and went off to find food, craving something deep-fried. I went to a food kiosk in the building, and ordered a poutine. The carton it was contained in could be carried in one hand easily, and to top it off it didn't really taste that good.

The poutine was 9$. For perspective, I could've ordered a large plate of poutine from my local diner for only 7$, and the small plate would've still been a larger serving than what I'd bought.

As soon as I walked away from the counter I felt like the biggest, dumbest jackass on Earth. To this day I have never forgiven myself for that purchase.

The most ridiculous thing I've ever bought? Probably the HD-DVD player for my Xbox 360. Such a waste of money, but it seemed like a good idea at the time...

I have a lifetime full of bad food purchases. A big waster of my money is food and there has been numerous times that the food I bought was beyond disappointing. It's the worse when your so hungry and as soon as you buy food you realize you made the wrong decision with what you ordered.

I bought two Pink magical fairy wands (not quite like the one in the picture but you get the idea) that make this tinkling musical sound. I bought one for me and one for my neighbor who has a really warped sense of humor like I do. He passed away a while back unfortunately.

We'd have a lot of fun busting those bad boys out and doing our best fairy impersonations when he had company over, hehehe. They are pretty awesome. Got them for a buck at the dollar store one day.

Actually I wasn't the one who made this purchase - but my ex made it with my paycheck so I guess it counts... he pre-ordered a certain special edition of Dragon Quest so he could get the blue slime controller - which of course he never used, it just sat up on the shelf looking at us when we watched tv. Not sure why anyone would want the thing it didn't work very well as a controller.
