I believe hate is a very strong word that we just sort of throw around.
When somebody says "I hate mustard!" They often really mean "I don't care for the taste of mustard. I prefer other condiments more than mustard." You dislike mustard. You hate that your father would get drunk and beat you. You dislike Nickelback's music. You hate rape and murder.

It's vice versa for me, I dislike more than hate. Hate is very strong, I couldn't bring myself to be so negative about something for long

I need a good reason to bother with hate.

Good answer, personally I find hating something takes a lot of energy to do. I can dislike something out of fear but that can change, constantly channelling hate is a lot of effort for no reward.

It's not easier. Empathy does take a little work though and it's something that has to constantly be reinforced so at times it can seem that hate is easier. We are creatures of emotions and our emotions are very strong. All emotions can illicit a strong response but it seems that hate wins out more because most people don't get online and voice their love as often as they do their displeasure.

Both hate and love can move mountains and change the world but I still think that love wins out. It's a complicated issue. My hate for one can drive my love for another and vice versa. The two emotions are closely intertwined and it can be hard separating the two at times.

Because humans tend to gravitate towards the negative.

I guess it is the easiest way to go. At least for some people.

But then, you store in that hatred.

I think it is in part a genetic trigger from our "beware the unknown/different, it could be dangerous" It takes time to know something and that time could be hazardous to the organism.

Dunno if it's been said, but destroying is easier than creating. That's pretty much it. Yeah...

That, and, negative emotions come much more easily than positive ones. It's just in our nature.
