I've noticed this over the past couple of days, I think. The comments section on News pages and on videos do not seem to be updating to order themselves by "Top" - that is, the ones with the most upvotes first. On video pages, you even get the option to order comments by "Recent" or "Top" but changing this setting does nothing.

Edit: I've confirmed that this happens on multiple browsers and whether or not you sign into your account. It only appears to affect the comments section of new articles and videos though. Still, this is making the comments section of all new videos in the last few days a mess.

Edit2: As of July 21, this problem is still going on. This problem started on or around June 24, almost a month ago.
Edit3: August 31st and this bug is still present and unchanged.
--note: As sad as this is, I will now only update this every 1-2 months, to keep people informed without spamming the forums.

Edit N: As of Feb 28, 2016 (8 months since it began), this problem is still ongoing and unchanged.

Hmm... seems to be working for me on video comments, but not on news comments. For example: this is from One Piece, Episode 746. Here it is sorted by "Top":



Highest number of votes on top. And here it is sorted by "Recent":



Most recent post (37 minutes ago) on top. So video comments sort for me, but News comments don't. Hmm... Is there a particular show/episode that the comments aren't sorting for you? I'd like to try it as well.

FYI... I'm using Google's Chrome browser (51.0.2704.103 m) with most extensions turned off (Ad-Blockers, etc.), but as you say, it's probably not a browser issue.

/Edit: just tried it on KIZNAIVER, Episode 11, and it sorted properly. Maybe sorting is busted only on the latest episodes (Premium members only)? However, that wouldn't explain why News comments don't sort.

Yeah, I haven't pinned down the exact day, but it seems that every new video and news article from 2-3 days ago has this problem. Something must have happened on their end at that time.

You can easily tell which news articles and videos are affected because the sort function is only broken for those pages.

To use the Kiznaiver video you listed as an example, episode 11 (and all previous eps) have the comments properly ordered when you first load up the page, and selecting the "Top" or "Recent" sort function works as it should, whereas episode 12 is not.

Hopefully Crunchyroll will catch this before long.

Just popping by to say this affects me also. Windows 8.1 & Firefox 47.0

Judging by the mess of comments on Re:Zero Ep 13 (where someone reposts the same topic every few hours after the old topic disappears off the bottom of the page) this is affecting the majority of users.

Since you guys are Premium members, don't forget to report this problem directly to Crunchyroll support via their Contact Us form: http://www.crunchyroll.com/help?topic=contact. They may not see this thread and might not be aware of the issue yet.

Update: over a week since it's started, and this problem is still going on... I submitted a ticket to CR support a week ago, and still no response from them.

@Frediloc I'm glad I'm not the only one, it has been happening for me for a while now and it's really annoying. I like seeing people's opinions on episodes, but generally only the top few.

Just checked Orange a moment ago switching between sorting by Top or Recent, and there was no change in the sorting whatsoever. There is probably an issue with the comment system on the site. I have seen issues with the posting system before, so I am expecting it to be resolved soon.

Same thing is happening to me. I was wondering why this has been happening. Every video hasn't been sorting comments by the highest rated comment. I even checked back to a new episode that came out almost a week ago and it still isn't sorted by the top comment. It's been happening the last week or so and has never happened before that. (And yes, I have the comment filter set to "Top")

Also have this issue. Windows 10 Firefox 47.0.1. Hope a fix will come soon.
