Texas has been talking about leaving for awhile now. They wouldn't last two seconds before realizing that they need the government

Leaving a southern state to govern itself is pretty much tantamount to leaving a goldfish in the care of a four year old.

Kind of like how Britain is lost without a monarchy to guide them in the right direction. Democracy just isn't for everyone.

I live in Florida, KarenAraragi.

Also I hope Texas leaves so we can spend tax money anywhere but Texas.

. The notion that big governments are better than smaller governments is an assumption that the left likes to make, but empires throughout history are quite often found to be more corrupt than comparative city-states, and are just as capable in time of war to make temporary alliances as those states that opt to merge with other states.

Ah, my friend! Alas, a fellow Texan who has a mind! You pretty much got the right stuff there, so I don't have much to add on. Yeah, a lot of the minority of Texans that have stupid ideas like that are quite vocal. I mean, they got open carry to be passed, so...

fuck, why am I surrounded by idiots? I mean, I know some of our governors' intelligence has definitely been surpassed by that of your average houseplant (*cough*Perry*cough*), so obviously there's plenty of braindead people living here, but they can't be that stupid, can they?!

First off, it isn't the "Old Confederates" that would take a shit when the checks stopped rolling in.

Texas not only has oil, but refineries

Texas has it's own powergrid, it's not interlocked with the rest of the US.

Texas has a metric fuckton of ports AND commercial crossings.

Texas has some high-tech services, and cows..

sure sure.

Just keep pretending like Texas would ever survive on it's own for even 5 years. You think Texas can rely completely on it's own power? Son you do not know how power grids work. You think Texas can produce enough oil by itself and refine enough of it by itself to not only support itself but conduct trade? You think Texas could patrol it's own borders land locked by other countries?

If any State has even a chance of leaving it's Hawaii and Alaska. Because they aren't connected to the US anyway. But even they aren't going to leave because they need the support of the nation for various things.

Don't be a snide dumbass, Texas has it's own powergrid. The USA has three powergrids, Western Interconnect, Eastern Interconnect and Texas Interconnect.
