Yeah. U mean like shuffle.

what do you mean by shuffle I like that he ended with asa and not the others.

any way do you think you could pick right away are do you think you would have to wait and get to know them better. which to get to know someone takes time.

I know that when a girl come up to confess to me that even if I really like them i will always say
let be freind first and wait about 4-7 month before i actually deiced If they are the right person for me.
this guy on shuffle have 4 girl that likes him so of course it take time to make sure he pick the right one and I think he did because if he pick kaede that relationship would be unhealthy since when you get to obsess
with some one you need to get away from them and that why he moved out since he saw this how kaede was.
then there sia which she could be a good wife and all but how rin is he need someone that not crazy
I mean the way she act is very crazy like rin is a normal guy so he need someone normal.
then there Nerine which is quiet normal but still not really a option if you notice on purpose they made her kinder seem to far away in a way. Any way about 95% of all heram end with the guy picken his childhood friend so I was glade it was different for once. Any way asa was always helping him even she usually did it in a way which at first made him mad. then other time he know right away that she help him and I think that he the type of guy which need some one to watch over him someone who can help him give him good advice which asa have always done for him.

I get what u meant. I had thought about this in this view before about the bad points of the rest of the girls. But ya know. Somehow i think Kaede was better. and more importantly shes not crazy until the part where Asa took Rin from her. Well who wouldnt get angry. O.o

Yea, I hate ASA too!!! I was rooting for Kaede and of all the girls he picked Asa. Whtas up with that....

Thats one of the worst anime ending ever.... I feel bad for Kaede whenever I remember shuffle.

YEP.. poor kaede.

I think a lot of guys like watching harem but a lot of times girls don't. I liked a few but mostly I got tired of breasts popping out and skirts hiking up.

I think I liked Ai Yori Aoshi the most cause Kaoru was cute and dependable. But that's one of the few I watched because I lose interest when the guy isn't well - interesting. And I'm not into shotacon (or is it lolicon) where the male lead is a kid and all the older women are in love with him.

P.S. FLCL was cool though cause Naota was cool and Haruko is not just weird, she's an alien.

Have you ever watched Fate/Stay Night before?

I haven't. Is it nice? I don't mind harem as long as the guy is bearable and it has a plot.

I am fine with Harem animes, as long as they have a good plot and story. School Days and Shuffle! are good examples.

School Days shows the reality that harems have a 99% chance of failure and things don't end so happily and in Shuffle, most people are lead that the main character will go for the so-called "innocent" Kaede, but was twisted so he went for another girl (Asa Shigure FTW!!!).

Don't tell me: you met a lame loser guy, who met three busty girls, all girls falls for him and he's in a frustrating situation where he have to choose one of the girls even though he doesn't deserve any of them?

Oh no, nothing so fortunate as that. Most of the time it is the other way around. Several guys falling for the same girl and so it becomes a situation of unrequited love. Or if it happens that several girls fall for the same guy it usually ends that either the guy is a total jerk and ends up using the girls for his own ends or he is a gentleman and there for refuses to make a choice. Either way it is frustrating. Of course there are other possible outcomes as well. It's just a frustrating and troublesome situation.

Harem guys suck, they're usually depicted as some spineless or clueless wimp that for some reason or other that is left unexplained the usually near perfect heroines of the anime get attracted to (and sometimes obsessed to). From time to time, it's amusing and is worth a watch, but most of the time, it gets annoying and repetitive as the theme gets repeated throughout many anime or manga.

That is very true. I've been wondering about that myself. Why is it that most of Harem Animes depict guys as weak and spineless? Why would girls even be attracted to him?

Ah... I know why. Harem Animes are targeted those who can't get girls in real lives. It's an encouragement and it implies indirectly saying "ugly, and weak guys can get hot girls too". But the truth is that they really can't -_-.

true but then you have clannad and shuffle where in both the guy is not weak and not spineless
in shuffle he pretty much killed him self to save the girl of course he did not die but he could have easily if the plan did not work. And when he was little for year on end he was very badly hurt over and over again and he never said a word about the truth of what happen to her mom and his parent just so she would feel better about her self. but ya a lot of heram are with weak and spineless guys

You are probably young.
Woman as they "grow up" (not get older... age have nothing to do with maturity, some girl stay girls all their life and some grow into mature being called woman ^_~) they soon realise that "bads boys looking hot" are nice to look at but dont really are the style of person you wanna built something with.

Arround the age of 22-25, woman realise that the nice guys they knew in HS could have been very good father and that they wish to have them back in their life. So they go hunt "goods guys"

I know its sucks now, but your turn will come.
Im not even worry about it!

But to be back on subject:

I like those anime because often they are nice light romances. Its not like you are waiting for a guy to kiss a girl for 4736578326 episodes. Its worst than that, you have to guess which one the guy should choose. Its allows alot of different type of romance, where all the girls watching can identify themself with at least one feminine characters.
And everyone like gossip. Everyone want to know what gonna happen next.
Its also possible to create more complicated situation and make the plot better.

I always said it: when a guy and a girl get in a relationship together, they both have to give up on something very different.
The girl give up on the prince charming image. No the guy she date inst the perfect guy, but she can live with it
And the guy give up on all the opportunity he "may had" to date any others girls.

Harem type of anime answer all of those need =P

yeah i agree with you! you almost want to reach through the screen and throttle them sometimes, they're so useless with women! Usually like some harems like Ichigo 100%, but i do feel sorry for some of the girls sometimes

I think it would be intersting to make multiple endings, so that we could see how it would end if things went differently. Cause usually harem anime's are based of h-games that have multiple ending's, right? So they already kinda have different endings to work with. Course it would be more money, but I would like to see it at least once. I think that it would be an interesting way of ending an anime. Same story, and for the last ep have like 4-5 different endings you could watch. I think it would be pretty cool to see this. That was we could see how the different relationships would turn out. Just my personal opinion.

Not all Harem guys are weak ):. Kage Mamoru(Something like that, with the ninja dude) I Found him really cool. He kept a sense of soul and justice while living how he normally would. And the only one that was attracted to the normal him was his friend, Everyone already knew he was a Ninja, and so on.
I Also don't think things like Air/Clannad/Kanon would be counted too much as harem. I feel it balances very well with drama and romance. Because in most of them, In the end, something has to happen which makes em seem like they were dumped or something like that.

It's called Kage Kara Mamoru! for anybody who was wondering.

A harem anime is described as being an anime where a more of a "loser" male protaganist suddenly becomes surrounded by 3 or more beautiful woman, usually living with at least one of them, who have some type of affection toward the lead male protaganist. A harem anime is also made up of unrequited love and misunderstandings. So I believe that Clannad, Kanon, and Air fit the bill here perfectly. They are not your "normal" harem anime's, true, but they are harem none the less.

If anybody is ever confused on what makes a "harem" anime, just look it up on wikipedia. Anime like Ah! My Goddess, Ranma 1/2, and Tactical Roar would all be considered harem, even thogh it is very readily apparent who the male protaganist will end up with in the end. Same would go for Ai Yori Aoshi.

There are also reverse harem anime, such as Ouran High School Host Club, that are when one female lead character is surrounded by 3 or more good looking males. Fruits Basket is another example.

Sorry for posting twice, but I wanted to respond to this comment. Forgive me this one time, please!! lol
