Post Reply Are you the type of person to hold grudges?
Posted 6/26/16
Not really, fundamentally grudges are pretty childish and immature.

Nah. I used to hold grudges, but just learned to forgive.

No point in holding grudges. Never have.

It depends on how badly I got screwed.

I can do the forgive thing but I try not to forget.
As a general rule I have found if you let caustic people back into your life you will get screwed over and over again. It isn't really about forgiveness, it's about self preservation and NOT being an enabler.

Truth is forgiveness is predicated on contrition. If they aren't sorry about the chaos they have created for you, you would be an idiot to let them do it again.

The Bible speaks about turning the other cheek not taking it in the ass.

Yeah, I can hold strong grudges, but I let go most of the time. But I never forget! If I did, I'd be stupid for letting the same things occur over and over again.

I hold grudges for people who are elitists as well as passive aggressive, hiding things and talking behind people's backs instead of just manning up and saying things to people's faces

if you try to be a douche w/out wanting to face consequences, you get no respect from me

For people that annoy me, yes. Also other people who hold grudges annoy me. They're stupid. But it is tiring, and I don't like to carry that around. I find it preferable to channel that energy into an activity such as reading or watching something, walking or exercise.

If a person screws me over once I'll look the other way as long as they seem legitimately regretful. If not then they're dead to me.

I try sometimes, but I can't hold them for too long.
Posted 6/27/16
It depends on how much they deserve it, tbh.

Some people are just assholes who you shouldn't bother wasting time with *shrugs*

I wouldn't say I hold all my grudges, but there is still some cases where I still can't talk to certain people without being angry. I try not to though.

No because while you're stuck grudging that person they may be carrying on with their life and I'm not going stop my life to be angry at someone who probably doesn't care but I probably won't talk to that person again. Life is too short for me or you to hold grudges.
