So the Pope has no right to ask homosexuals for forgiveness just because of the sexual abuse in the Chruch?
Posted 6/27/16
I believe from what I'v e been told is that the (Catholic Church's) stance on homosexuals is that its okay to be gay as long as you're celibate for the rest of your life. Meaning don't sleep with guys but ok to be attracted to them. okay...

Sad/funny thing is they're not even the same thing, but are to him. I mean why apologize if both are equally wrong to the religion?

Yes this is the belief of the Church.
I'm Catholic and gay btw. At this point I don't know what to do though

The catholics have soon forgotten 1 Cor. 7:9 - But if they cannot control themselves, they should marry, for it is better to marry than to burn with passion. I question much what the pope has to say also no one should hold him as idol that is also a sinners way.

I am simply pointing out how he and the church have forgotten the abuse scandal.

I'm Christian but I will not pass judgement on gays, lesbians, and trans individuals. Not for simply being who they are. Gays and lesbians are who they are and they are attracted to the same sex and not to the opposite sex. Trans people also don't choose to be how they are. I understand that they want romantic love just like most other people.

If some of them have good hearts, and some of them are spiritual and want to have a good relationship with the Lord or do have a good relationship with the Lord, I'm with the pope - who am I to judge?

We are all sinners, and I think a lot of Christians who are very judgemental of LGBT people or even condemn them...I think a lot of these Christians are bad in their own ways and they should be more concerned about themselves and correct some of their own shortcomings and failings and should be more concerned with their own spiritual well-being.

Again, all people are imperfect sinners and some people who may be condemned by many may have the favor of the Lord and some who are so sure they have favor with the Lord may not, so please, people...let God be the judge of each and every person. Don't go and try to do the judging for him (which of course, none of us can).

sorry, why should anyone who is not an aggressor/attacker/etc apologize for something he/she did not do? Why should a group of people apologize for the actions of the few?

I will never understand that way of thinking. If you did not do anything, then you should not have to apologize. And blaming a whole group of people for the actions of a few makes no sense either.
