Keeping track of the anime we like and dislike for use in an algorithm that trys to recommend new animes we may not know about but should enjoy.

Various websites do think similar with music and movies, Crunchyroll needs this,
as far as i know no purely anime sites offer this feature
only
sites.

CR doesn't keep track of your completed anime series at all (only individual episodes), and no longer lets you start a "favorites" list, either. To do something like that, you would need to go and use one of the (free) listing sites such as: anime-planet.com and hummingbird.me

There are a few others as well, which I haven't used (MAL, ANN, etc), so I'm not sure about the features they have, but I wouldn't be surprised if they offered that service, too.

But both of the sites I mentioned have functionality to give you suggestions/recommendations based on what you record on them what you have watched, and (probably) how you rated them.

Yes, it would be nice if CR did that themselves, but I'm not holding my breath, as the trend over the past few years seems to have been to focus on getting more content and reducing the overhead of extra unique features they used to have.

The advantage to using an external site is that you can track everything you watched everywhere, not just the shows that CR carries themselves, which would be all that would be in their list if they added what you are asking for.

You might also take a look at my group pages for exploring CR further, if you want to limit your choices to just what is here. I have collected and expanded the tags and suggestions to try by individual shows. Not quite what you were asking for, as it only considers one show for comparison, not a group of them. The index page can be found here: Rotten Sushi Index Page

There is also this forum /forumcategory-391038/advice-info-recommendations for asking other users here what they might suggest as well.
