Ahhhh, the "special hug" talk . I remember it well .

Creating life kind of scares me (in a non-babymaking way). Thinking back to all the movies and tv shows I've seen, books I've read and games I've played it never seems to go well. Even given a totally mundane seemingly harmless life-form it always tends to evolve into something dangerous and deadly. Westworld, the Stepford Wives, Jurassic Park, Peter Benchley's Creature, James Patterson's The Zoo...nothing ever comes off without a hitch. If I was to create any sort of life-form it would have to be on equal footing with the human race as to not be beaten down or beat us down due to mistreatment on either side of the fence.

The quality of the life created esp. if its human has to be considered. If you create something that will only suffer, only to say you were successful, that isn't good. Frankenstein and Jurassic Park are examples of cautionary tales, of creating life or bringing something back to life with negative outcomes. Its more or less ethical areas that rule out human experimentation and eugenics programs.

first thing I thought was reproduction and babies.

Second was if I made something in between like an organic cybernetic robot. I'd go for like a real life ver of brs or something.

If you are given the ability to create life, do you think you should do it? Well, I'm not talking about like taking care of an egg and have it grows into a chicken, but like create life as it is. It can be anything from ant to possibly a human being. Personally I think creating life is not the same as killing it, so maybe it should be allowed? What are your guys thoughts on it? I agree that creating life on a computer or sort, many things can go wrong. Creating life and destroying it can be done in the blink of an eye and in vast quantities. So should it be regulated?

Since we have already done this at the bacterial level it is just a matter of scaling up. The ethical questions is raises are many and should be dealt with sooner rather then later.
