Well if he was her father, he sure would be a mother-fucker now wouldn't he?

Disgusting? Historically it is normal. Hell, given the anime and drama available even here, it could even be considered culturally normal. Old men are stable. Young women are...well, young. A match made in genetic heaven.

Maybe I'm too American and I don't care enough for what goes on with anime or manga but do you realize that this man may not even be around by the time this child is 20? Hell even when this child is about to turn 15 he might not be around anymore. So all I have to say to her is she better be looking for a 2nd option for a father figure or else that child may become a bastard.

It is pretty unlikely that he's going to croak in the next nine months or so, so the kid won't be a "bastard", and wouldn't anyway because they got "married". Japanese tend to live for some time, so he has a good chance of still being around to schtup his wife when the kid's 30.

In addition, American or not, people wouldn't say a damned thing if she was 51 and he was 82.

You never know though and speaking realistically in the next 9 months something could take any one of us out but as you said it's unlikely and on that whole age difference, I would give a damn if my daughter was marrying a man who was old enough to have went to school with me but maybe I'm too different from everyone else here when it comes to this type of stuff.

It's their life, let them do what they want. They are both adults and if that is what they choose then congrats.
Is it sad, that Someone I almost dated had an almost identical mindset as ranwolf (╥﹏╥) no wonder I despise him

Here some extra emojis

I have some other thoughts that probably won't be welcome or accurate because of how little I really know you.

Mate I am 28 and the fact I haven't found a partner of either gender that agrees with my opinion should speak volumes about the lacking sense of morality amongst my own country men and women.

Politically speaking I am a centralist , ethically speaking I am a soldier, Spiritually speaking I am a Christian ,. And no woman or man thus far has proven worthy of more then basic courtesy. And the few that have proven themselves above the rank and file of trashy humanity have disappointed me in other ways.

I can't demand or create the values I cherish in other humans so unless God is truly kind I will have to get used to coming home to a home devoid of anything aside from my own touches.

Have you thought about coming to the USA? Its not a liberal wasteland yet.

She is sorry for being pregnant with a man she wants to marry? Uhh...what?

Most likely she's saying that so neither one of them gets hated by their fans. Remember the head-shaving by an idol just because she was "dating" a guy? Things like these can become very dangerous when it comes to Japanese idol culture. Fans over there can be just as nuts as the one who killed Christina Grimmie over here earlier this month,

Definitely a considerable age gap but its not uncommon for people in the industry to get married with fellow mangakas, writers, voice actors/actresses, fans, cosplayers, etc. She is an extremely attractive woman with some very large... erm, assets but you gotta give him props since he looks significantly younger than your average 50 year-old man.

The only thing I find weird isn't the fact that she's pregnant or getting married to him but that the fact it seems very uncommon in Japan for a woman her age to do either one of those. Regardless, best of wishes to them both and their upcoming child and careers!

From what I've seen and heard so far, they're not doing that for fun, they're doing that for profit and to please those perverted nutjobs over there who are even more crazier than fans over here, I really don't see how they can handle the scrutiny they get. I woulda cracked a long time ago and I woulda been went off on some muthafuckas over there and woulda been beatin some ass.

I have to agree on that much. When one is much too alike to their partner it ends up spellin' a lot of trouble. Long term relationships work on diplomacy, because no partner will ever be perfect or ideal.

That doesn't mean one scrapes at the bottom of the barrel either.

People change in many ways too. If one is too strict on what they desire--it will always end in disappointment.

Of course, one never knows what they're lookin' for until they actually find it. Expectations automatically get thrown to the wind when that happens anyway.

My dad turned 70, and I'm 26.

Also my mom died in 2008 at the age of 55, so what am I supposed to be taking from this post, man? lol
