I think I know why Crunchyroll got all episodes right away. I read the manga in Japanese on an app called Comico which offers free web mangas, and there you can unlock all episodes right away using app points, or you can wait for the broadcast on TV each friday to watch the series for free, or you can wait for each monday to watch the new episode for free on the app.

As for the anime, I didn't like the final episode which did not follow the manga as much as the rest of the series, it was not as funny as the manga and a bit more mushy, but overall it is a good adaptation.

I think the real reason why they released all the episodes at once is because it was pushed back from the winter season to the spring season and then to the summer season. I remember seeing it a while ago as a listed anime and then i remember seeing it again the next season. I imagine that they finished working on all the episodes a while ago so unlike most of the shows that are being put out weekly they had all of the episodes finished before the air date so they just released them all via simulcast. If its being shown on Television in Japan than its probably being show week to week with the other option being that it is a strait to Blu-Ray release in Japan.

Yeah actually i just took a look at the twitter feed for the ReLife team and it seems that its being broadcast as a week to week show in Japan, it also seems they released an Early BluRay/DVD release as well in Japan, so its a little of both. Id have to try to go all the way back a few months to see if i can find the actual reason behind them delaying the release but i think that's more or less the reason why we got all the episodes at once.

Really enjoyed it 8.5/10 for me.

I think the strength of the show was the depth of the characters and how they acted their actual ages. So whilst the premise wasn't original, Karui & Oga's puppy love was such a joy to watch.

They telegraphed the identity of test subject 1 early on, but honestly there weren't many candidates since they'd all known each other for a few years anyway. Tama & co were childhood friends, and Oga & Karui had known each other since the start of high-school.

Shame that they seemed to run out of budget for episode 13, especially with the number of still pan shots.

So finished it, and I do have to give it a high score, if I were to typically score things. But it was extremely enjoyable from that hook at the beginning of the first episode, to the finish. Not your typical high-school romcom; characters actually develop and grow, and people act like real people for the most part. The ending was a bit too open for me, but I guess that's too be expected. I'd like to know more about Test Subject 001; perhaps a second season or whatever could focus on her view.

And now I continue to watch this starting from episode 7, and while I was hoping to finish it today, it looks like that won't be happening.

Episode 7

This episode looks back at the event leading up to Kaizaki becoming 002 in the Relife experiment. Certainly, he was at the lowest point of his life being reduced to a convenience store worker while quitting his job due to a really horrible working environment. He was being stalked, and seeing that he had nothing better to do that he took it. Yoake and Onoya sure did find the right man.

Episode 8

Now the focus is on Honoka, who is the team's best volleyball player, but she is failing in the classroom, albeit not to the degree Kaizaki is. So she studies hard, and overexerts herself in doing so. She passed the test, but she's in no condition to practice and in turn, Kariu sprains her ankle that puts her status for the upcoming tournament in jeopardy. And then comes a heated exchange. It's great to see that Honoka is dedicated and she has a great friend in Kariu, but her teammates are not exactly cooperative. Things sure did swell.

Just finished it myself.

It is a coming of age and power of friendship done right. It has its issues, but what it tries to go for and how it goes about clearly out-shadow the flaws.

Also, manga readers! I know CR has ReLife manga, so where can I pick up? Quote me and let me know!!

Episode 9

Things have gotten really bad between Kariu and Honoka that they aren't seeing each other. So Kaizaki turns to Hishiro to try and clear the air with them, but before that they sort of clear the air with each other with Hishiro telling him that she tried to step in and stop a classmate from being bullied and only made the situation worse. So with that, they go and try to repair things with Kariu and Honoka by talking to Honoka while Kariu listens in. Let's see what this comes to, but for now I'm going to stop and continue this tomorrow.

i recommend to start around chapter 104 or 105 (the confession part), there's slightly differences with the anime, so i think it's better to start at that chapter. But, if you doesn't mind the differences, start from ch 109 is alright too.

EDIT : apparently after checking the manga on CR, CR only translated up till ch 73 ???
if you can read japanese, you can read here, im sure that's the official website.
but, if you can't read japanese or can't wait for CR translation, may be go to the dark site ??? there's a group who also does the eng translation till ch 134 by now.

is there a season 2? Why CR released all season 1 at one go?

To answer your second question, what I have been hearing is that the whole thing was streamed in the Comico app in Japan, which explains why CR was given the green light to release the whole series ahead of the Japanese broadcast. Continuing on with the next episode...

Episode 10

Kariu's tsundere nature is in full force here as she had retired from the sport, but secretly she wanted to get back onto the court and play with Honoka one last time. Honoka wasn't originally going to play volleyball as she's better at swimming and track, hence the reason why she didn't want to attend Shiratorizawa or any other school with a powerhouse volleyball team. In the end, she felt like just a tool more than a person, until she met Kariu. Honoka's team ended up losing, but the two make up saying that there will be another chance to play together as they plan to be teammates in college. That was great to see those two make up like that.
