Hopefully this doesn't mean more Sentai titles will be locked behind Hulu in the future.

I will be upfront: I am what you could a copyright minimalist. I don't really have an issue using infringing anime streaming and scanlation sites. When it comes to giving said sites donations, I will not do that. That being said, this is an accomplishment for this site, which 8 years made the 1st legal simulcast at a time they were also hosting fansubs.

Man, I'm really conflicted on this. I really want to be happy, because I love CR and am all in favour of them branching out and expanding to provide even stronger competition to Funimation (and other licensors etc.), and also I'm happy for people that want dubs of shows that previously would have had minimal chance of being dubbed.

However, and this is going to sound really needy and whingey, but as someone that doesn't care for dubs in the slightest, my concern is that Crunchyroll's allocation of funds into dubbing and home release licensing (and actual creation, publication etc.) will limit their capacity to obtain such large streaming lineups...

There isn't a "pile of money" somewhere that is being used to obtain the streaming rights. The streaming is self-funding. Member subscriptions and advertising views pays for the streaming.

But streaming does not pay very much per view, and so a few thousand disc sales can trump many, many more online views in the marketplace.

So as far as Crunchyroll's direct licensing, it's rather the reverse: the ability to offer physical disc distribution is likely to lead to more series being licensed for streaming by Crunchyroll.

The issue is whether this interferes with Crunchyroll's streaming of series licensed by other distributors. That's the only way that this could seriously reduce the amount of anime available for streaming at Crunchyroll.

Why ruin good news / it is nice for shows on CR to get dubbed !

I am getting a liittle tired of FUNI bashing I like both I am an anime fan first and watch wherever

It's funny how CR got in with Noitamina and now

signed a deal with Amazon to exclusively stream and simulcast series from the noitaminA block through their Prime Instant Video service on March 17, 2016,

Yes CR wiil do the Dub for Fortress but just watch out FUNI please how about NET FLIx too!

And CR is famous for ir's vocal SUB only fans ! I wonder what they think now ?

CR has problems too which got buried in another Forum losing a lot of current / recent popular Titles I could say CR better watch your back!

Multiple Sentai Filmworks Catalog Anime Titles End Crunchyroll Streaming CHRIS BEVERIDGE / THE FANDOM POST

Crunchyroll Header LogoForum regular and all around detail oriented guy WTK has put together a new list of a number of titles from Sentai Filmworks that have recently ended their streaming run on Crunchyroll. Titles come and go with streaming all the time, though services have gotten roughed up a bit by users in the last several months about getting more notification about this – something that isn’t always in their control. In fact, Crunchyroll has addressed this rather quickly after the initial list first surfaced as they stated,

“We wanted to briefly address some comments we’ve seen about catalog availability. The licensing process creates situations where we may, for a time, not have the license to particular titles, and we’re currently working with our partners to bring them back. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, and thank you for your patience and understanding.”

Thank you Crunchyroll.

Honestly, while I was always excited to see you guys getting more and more exclusives, I always was a very open fan of dubbed anime, not only for my own tastes and interests, but also as a way to get new fans and family into shows that they might not have ever touched otherwise due to a language gap. So seeing that you have now taken the next big step and gone to Distributing and producing your own English dubbed shows....honestly I am both very proud and happy. I cannot wait to see what other shows you will dub and release further down the road, and I am really hopeful that at the very least your releases will be reasonable in price.

But still, color me excited and I cannot wait to see and hear what these releases look and sound like.

Add me into this camp to see it happen, don't care if it's sub only just as long as it's available.
