As I've mentioned elsewhere, CR's relationship with Sentai already seemed to be cooling (the two Hulu exclusives earlier this year being one example). So while once upon a time I would have seen this as a bad thing, now I see it as a possible good move for strengthening their streaming position (as CR too can now dangle the possibility of a home video license).

I've actually been wondering for quite some and you seem to know a lot more than I do and I wanted to ask, how is Sentai's and CR's relationship right now and what do you think is going to happen in the future? I'm glad CR is going into licensing/distributor but I also thought this would burn the bridge with Sentai and CR has a lot of Sentai shows in it's library (even though it recently lost about 20).

I don't have a bug in CR's or Sentai's offices, but let's consider some developments this year:

On CR's side: CR gets into the home video business, which means Sentai has another competitor. CR makes an agreement with Kadokawa, giving them exclusive streaming rights for their shows. That means despite Sentai having the rights to the previous installments of Prisma Illya, and streaming them the same season on TAN and Hulu, that won't be the case this season unless CR sub-licensed it to them (and I don't see that happening). All told, that is probably a minor thing, since they can still license it for home video.

On Sentai's side: They started putting some simulcasts back on The Anime Network exclusively again, as well as giving Hulu an exclusive a couple of seasons earlier this year. There were also a substantial chunk of titles that were removed from CR (apparently without sufficient notice to warn viewers), which all happened to be titles licensed by Sentai.

Frankly, it appears to me if there is any danger of bridges being burnt, Sentai may have lit the first match.

Damn, Crunchy. You guys are stepping up lately. I don't see myself picking up anything but the available volumes of Gintama, but I hope there's more coming soon.

How about (The Mystic Archives of Dantalian (ダンタリアンの書架 Dantalian no Shoka))? no publisher yet acquired the license to distribute it in DVD or Blu-ray.

I hope you plan on re translating all of these titles professionally before releasing them because frankly your subs are just as bad as sentais and funimations.

Especially since Amazon Prime has the rights to it. Those of us who want to watch it legally may get the dvd set, although I wish CR had the streaming rights as well.

Except for my last sentence ("Frankly, it appears to me if there is any danger of bridges being burnt, Sentai may have lit the first match."), exactly what parts of what I said were speculation?

It's just possble that that odd situation is only temporary. Think of all of the times that some Crunchyroll simulcast series has been acquired by a disc distributor and then after a while the Crunchyroll rights lapsed.

It's just possible that the same thing can now happen in the other direction.

I will not be happy until they pick up White Album 2. No one else has so far ;-;. 100% of the titles shown here are of no interest to me (though I did watch a few and rated it probably close to the impression people might get here).

My question is.
Can i order these DVDs and blurays as a international customer or do i have to resort to buying it from e-bay sellers and private sellers?
I want to support the industry and i try to buy what i can afford to from offical shops or more honest shops.
I dont think the industry sees alot of my money if i need to buy the stuff i want from private and e-bay sellers.
Some of it migth even be bootleg.

I coud of course wait for somone to licence it over here wich means in most cases Never. (Im in Norway)
I do import from UK whenever i can though.
I like streams but i sometimes likes to have a physical copy of something even better.
