Eh I think they introduced too many characters at once with one guy being the most prominent one so far.

Tsubasa (the main girl) has some potential but feels like she' lacking confidence in the group. I'll give it a try for more episodes but feel underwhelmed so far. Songs are alright I suppose.

Episode 1

This show looks like a ripoff of UtaPri, except that it skips the whole academy part and goes straight to the MC beginning her work in the agency, this time as an A&R with limited musical knowledge but with a keen sense of hearing, and the idol groups already established. Pretty much, it focuses on two of the idols who are struggling to get in sync with each other as Tsubasa was able to pinpoint where the dissonance is. At least the music is nice, but other than that, it was a snoozefest. I'll give it another episode or two, but it looks like an easy drop for me this season.

I really disliked the first episode. It introduced too many characters, while also giving off the vibe that this show was clearly made for teenage female otakus. While I consider myself an otaku, I just don't exactly fit into this type of show's obvious TA. I'm going to stick with it for a couple more episodes, but for now I don't expect much.

Well, I thought this was a pretty good episode. Yes, it introduced a lot of characters all at once, but then it pulled back and focused first on the main female and the 2 man unit. I thought it was a pretty smooth way to do it.

We got a good feel for both the guys in KitaKore. Voiced by Daisuke Ono (Sebastian Michaelis of Black Butler, Heiwajima Shizuo of Durarara, etc.) and Daisuke Kishio (Kurama of Kamisama Kiss, Heiwajima Kasuka of Durara). In this episode they are recording a new song together. I enjoyed this because the song was nice and they had really good harmony together.

MC-chan is a little bland, and it was a little silly how she visualized the music as some sort of laser combat, but let be real. No one watches a show like this for the MC female anyway. We're all here for the guys and this show has plenty of guys to deliver. There's a lot of great voice talent in here as well. I'm looking forward to getting to know more of the guys with more episodes. I've got my eye on the red-head voiced by Tetsuya Kakihara and the angry guy voiced by Toshiyuki Toyonaga.

All I can say about this one:
- Way too many characters introduced in the first episode and I can't even start to remember their names.
- I'm rooting for Tsubasa, because she needs to be cheered on.
- So that's what Twilight Sparkle would look like as a bishounen...

I enjoyed this one; whoever scouted this girl obviously saw some raw talent he wanted to nurture in his company - by getting the first job done she proved her present worth ...future worth as well. Unlike many other shows this season, looking forward to what she will do. Maybe the extended introductions are just Japanese culture.

Episode 2

This episode is all about the three-boy unit Thrive, and they are doing anything but thriving when they are asked to do a photo shoot for a magazine as Goshi is none too pleased about having to pose as cats. But of course, he had to swallow his pride and do this for the sake of his fellow mates, as well as those who got them this gig, and Tsubasa was able to keep his ego in check for this. Well, that really didn't do anything for me as this show just is boring the heck out of me, though I didn't have much expectation to begin with.

Wow, no discussion whatsoever of B-Project since episode two. Am I the only one actually still watching this?

My three reasons for still watching this:

- I genuinely want to see Tsubasa succeed.
- I want to see if Goshi actually punches someone out.
- Ryuuji, or as I like to call him, Twilight Bishie Sparkle.

No, seriously, I'm 100% convinced his character design is based on Twilight Sparkle. It's not possible for it to be a coincidence.

Y'know...

When you've got an anime about a boy idol group nobody cares about, and almost nobody cares about the anime itself...

Just saying, it's probably not the best idea to interrupt its broadcast schedule with a 23-minute "special episode" that's just the VAs talking. Because frankly? That's boring as crap. I've never liked these "voice actor special" things, for anything, ever.

Might've been a good idea for CR to not stream "Episode 4.5" and just skipped a week.

VA special episodes are almost always painfully boring. But some people salivate over anything that looks like behind the scenes inside info, especially if one likes to see the "real" people behind a character. And I guess they've got to fill that timeslot somehow, and CR is probably under obligation to stream it along with the regular parts of the season.

I don't know what to think of this show. No, it's more that I don't know what to think of the reality that I am still watching this show. I don't like idol shows. I especially don't like boy idol shows, and yet this one, for all that there are those characteristics that make me cringe, I've been kind of liking it in spite of those things. At about a third of the way through this week's episode (episode 5) I was ready to move it from the "just giving it a try" section of my queue to the "committed for the season" section of my queue and embarrassedly admit to doing so, when...temporary amnesia. Sigh. from hitting one's head. Sigh sigh. And regaining memory after hitting it again. Sigh. Sigh. Sigh.

I dunno, I dunno. Should I just drop it? Should I just give in? Should I just leave it in that part of my queue that I was very much trying to clear out this week.

Is anyone else even still watching this?

ETA: It happened on the latest episode of
too.
