So far not bad...Kazama looks like he has some issue too .

But As soon as Kazama spoke , its Matsuoka ? I prefer a different seiyuu for that character though...dont quiet buy it.

Takuto Yoshinaga as Tsukushi Tsukamoto
Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Jin Kazama

Ayane Sakura as Sayuri Tachibana
Daisuke Namikawa as Hisahito Mizuki
Daisuke Ono as Atsushi Kimishita
Hiro Shimono as Jiro Haibara
Hiroki Yasumoto as Susumu Inohara
Katsuyuki Konishi as Katsutoshi Nakazawa
Mamoru Miyano as Kiichi Ōshiba
Mariya Ise as Chikako Ubukata
Takahiro Sakurai as Yūta Usui

Looks like the lead wimpy character newbie is the kohai seiyuu . Everyone are senpai seiyuu in this title.

But I was excited that we have a new sports anime !!! woohoo!!!

Hopefully the writting gets better becuase I feel it is somewhat off in the character development of the Kazama dude. the intro of the characers fell off to me

Episode 1

Um. Yikes. I was looking forward to this series but episode one left MUCH to be desired.

The animation was beautiful and even stunning at times but I didn't care about any of the characters. Not a single one. Except the haughty girl in their class because she had more personality in her 10 seconds of screen-time than anyone else that showed up. Urgh.

Wanted to like this but I feel so empty after that one episode.

I'm not into sports anime, like at all, but this intrigued me being by MAPPA. Glad I checked it out cause it is solid thus far. Like the determination and upbeat attitude of the main guy and the other dude seems pretty cool, too. Could be a sleeper hit here.

Episode 1

I was expecting much more from a sports anime seeing that they generally don't get made into one unless it's really good, but that was somewhat dull. Anyway, it got off to a decent enough start here seeing that two guys on opposite ends of soccer aptitude ought to make for an interesting dynamic. Tsukushi sure wore himself out, but he's really getting into the beautiful game. That was a decent start, but the characters aren't really drawing me in. Let's see how things build from this.

As a slice of life this has potential, but in many areas this is awful. First of all, if you actually play soccer you probably notice the awful, abysmal, animation and SFX. If you were expecting great realistic movements and plays, run away immediately from this. It's pretty clear that the author didn't actually play soccer with the scenes about cleats wearing out in a day and blisters (how would it even be possible to pull off a toenail because you wear cleats??). I'd call this a show for casual soccer fans. As a slice of life, the glaring problem is the white canvas protagonist who seems to have no personal character. The "coming of age" route is all over this story and it doesn't seem like it will be anything special. As far as characters there's some great ones, apart from the lead role anyway. It actually looks good in terms of story, I feel like it might remind viewers of a new gen type of Capt Subasa.

Ep 1

I'm not quite sold yet, but I thought the first episode was decent. Tsukushi has willpower though, that's for sure. Jin seems like a cool guy, and I liked the animation. It just felt like it was missing something. Not really sure what, but I wasn't as immediately drawn in as usual for a sports anime. Maybe a rivalry of some sort is what is needed to spice things up? It's only the first episode though, so still plenty of time for things to heat up.

Well, I saw no real introduction or any motivations among other things. This anime was nothing but lackluster for me.
One thing that is crucial in sports anime is to showcase why their sport is interesting, and maybe add objectives and rules for people that don't know.
They might add it later, but a pilot episode without it feels empty.

Sucks they went away from the manga on how they meet, it was funny lol I don't remember those "Yaoi" vibes anywhere in the manga, what are they doing to this show

Also guys it gets better, don't worry but I don't know if the anime will follow the manga so I'm kind of scared.

Episode 2

Decent episode and it shows that Seiseki is a good team considering the reputation about Tsukamoto's membership (being made fun of because they thought he wasn't the manager)

Meanwhile, the training shows that Tsukamoto has a strong will to improve himself. I wish his personality wasn't so timid though.

Looks like this show doesnt slow down for the details as long as they prove the point

Becuase of him the first year are becoming a strong tight team . and Kazama is just running as if nothing fazes him

So far I like it inspite of its weakness
but I like the current Team Captain ... he has good foresight I enjoyed the last 3 minutes of the episode LOL

But it sure reminded me that I cant run anymore let alone climb stairs

Update:
I found this seiyuu talk in youtube with the cast for this anime, naming Sakurai san, Namikawa san, Matsuoka and their kohai Yoshinaga
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=om_MEB3WgeU

and it appears Mizuno has collaborated once again with this sports anime -- the official team jersey and the cleats , the Morella Neo 2, current top of the line as we see them in the anime. Man those cleats are almost 290 dollars

Ep 2

A slightly better episode than the first, in my opinion. Tsukamoto really has the cards stacked against him but his spirit is admirable. Looks like he's got more stamina and speed than before too. Seiseki seems to be the top team based on their reputation so I wonder how the first years will perform after the training camp really gets underway. It was funny to see Tsukamoto be confused for the team manager just because of his size, then proceed to outrun those who were mocking him. Hoping for some more development on the other first years in the future.
