Episode 4

Chikako is awesome, somewhat arrogant at first but I think she's a strong independent girl who speaks her mind.

Tsukamoto managed to make her see his side differently in a way. Glad to see that she joined the team as a manager too. Good for her, can't wait to see what she brings in for the team.

I was excited to see this episode becuase of the second part ...awesome adaptation of those chapter with Chikako as well

and yes I want to kick her butt for being a pain at the begining parts. I have read farther in the story and so far not much is written with her character but the next episode is about what the coach told Mizuki....and the anime intro is pretty much a spoiler ... he wore the number 17

I am not saying more.

Really enjoying the adaptation and thank goodness they only used CG very quickly this time.
however the subtitle translation is annoying

Well you already spoiled it so you don't have to say more lol. Might as well read the manga before more gets spoiled you just can't watch anime on CR and expect to not know everything that happens before it does.

Anyway the episode bored me for the first 10 minutes but was entertaining in the end. It's just a pattern of Tsukamoto failing at stuff then he learns a lesson and gets better. He learned proper running before though so why does he still run like that when doing laps? XD. I guess he's supposed to look tired but then why did he lead that marathon at the camp with ease? So far he's learned how to run and have stamina for the whole game and he's learned how to strike the ball and how to tackle that's not bad for a novice.

Why did Chikako become the manager? That seemed to have no build up lol. Unless I missed something and I'll be watching the episode again there wasn't anything to suggest she wanted to be a manager it looked more like she wanted to become a novelist but failed at it. maybe I was misreading the whole situation lol

I like this episode a lot and how Tskumato behavior and spirit makes Chikako look at herself and how she has changed and doesn't care or have as much passion about school. We will see how good of a manager she is definitely has a poker face always frowning but at the very end she cracks a slight grin at Tskumato my favorite like is when she thinks to herself your special Tskumoron!

I keep watching OP and want to know back story of Tskumatos mom in wheel chair I bet it will be feels city.

LOL i sure spoiled it

Well In the manga , they actually introduced Chikako earlier, the first part of the anime happened before they went to the camp which was 3 days long.
By the time Chikako confronted Tsukamoto its already after the training camp ....

Anyway in the manga , the title DAYS is actually designating the specific DAYS 1 etc and the part with the PE class is 11th DAY , meaning that Tsukamoto has only been training for 11 days?

All of these events are happening in the Spring term. The anime actually added some parts here and there to build the other characters.

in Japan , The nationals HS soccer is in the Winter but before that the HS in each prefecture hold inter high round which usually starts around Summer to Fall.

But the manga is written where the time frame seem to be pretty fast so I am going to try to disregard that part in the manga because the mangaka made Tsukamoto learn soccer in only less than a month .
Time wise this one is written unrealistically , Baby Step on the other hand made the more realistic route when Eichiro was in his third year he was competing .
Here is a clip of Japan All High last year winter

I found another video of a Japanese HS soccer club 2013 that produced a lot of pro soccer players in Japan

So does it skip any days? Or maybe "days" is just what the author calls chapters?

Episode 4

Okay, so Days has finally grown on me.

I love how this episode gave me a bad impression on Chikako and then made me empathize with her feelings by the end of it. I mean, she comes off as a total jerk by looking down on our MC and telling him he's no good.

Getting a bit of why she did so really helped justify her actions a little, even if it was over the top. Also, seeing Tsukamoto improve at soccer was a treat as well.

I wonder if anyone will pick up the manga for Days? I'd imagine Viz would get it, but then again, you never know!

LOL, Tsukamoto's reaction is priceless when he got picked for the last spot on the team

Good episode this week. While Tsukamoto isn't as good as the other players, he brings spirit, energy, and good values to the team, something that I don't think any others can at his level. Plus, the kid has a lot of determination to win despite his underdog status. I hope he improves soon as well, just gotta practice more.

Tsukamoto can be pretty embarrassing and cringeworthy at times but he and his team just swell up with a manly fiery passion whenever he runs his hardest.

I freaking love Ubukata Chikako btw. Can I call her onee-sama? <3

Tsukamoto making the team instead of senpai-kun would have been relatively more shocking if they didn't spoil it in last week's previews, good episode. Looking forward to seeing more next week, looks like they'll go and play with some kids and the Sakuragaoka team captain will be a very likeable rival.

One of the better episodes so far it didn't go the best for Tsukamoto but he did manage to inspire the team again with his endless determination and desire for them to win. He's just the type of person who lifts the team when he's around and makes them enjoy themselves. Each time he has one of his awesome feats of determination and charisma Ubukata seems to want the D some more XD. She's normally a super serious type but even she couldn't help get caught up with him. It's a nice way for the show to progress he doesn't become a super player overnight but tries hard, makes mistakes and learns from them.

Good episode and it's nice to see other characters still being relevant.

Speaking of that, whatever happened to this girl? I remember she showed up in the first episode, but I don't think we've seen her since then. What's her role in all of this? Or is she just there for fodder purposes?

I'm liking Days a lot so far but can we all agree that Tsukamoto is the Shinji Ikari of soccer? Haha

lol
I just finished watching Matsuoka as ace student chef Soma from Shokugeki and now as ace soccer Kazama

that was a pretty good adaptation. I am enjoying this anime more and more

and Tsukamoto sure cry as much as My Hero Academy

I was excited to hear Tomukazu Seki his silly side of Kaoru Indō at the end there....... crying as well , I actually saw him....earlier in this episode . We rarely see Seki works as a young character nowadays , he is the oldest among the seiyuu here although Sakurai is only a year younger that him but Sakurai san has been very popular lately even with HS characters followed by Namikawa san.
Mamuro's character is Mr Headbuter

Next week Daisuke Ono's character is in it more.... another scowling character

She's the childhood friend cliche I think. She'll probably show up later and get jealous of the team because she has a crush on him and wants to take up all his time.
