Crunchyroll just released this episode ahead of its premiere in Japan tomorrow. Episode 2 airs at its normal time a week from tomorrow with subsequent episodes coming at its usual time on Sundays.

Episode 1

So this is a show involving communication across time as Naho is getting a letter from her future self about events that are yet to come. So her first chance to change the future comes when she is asked to pinch hit with an injured foot, and knowing what pitch is coming that she hits a homer for the win. Naho realizes that everything that was written is coming true, and that leads to something ominous yet to come that Kakeru, who she just fell in love with, is going to die soon. That's a solid way to start this show as it establishes itself. It certainly has intrigue, but let's see how things build off this.

Sneaky, sneaky Crunchyroll!

I won't be watching this (I read the manga and didn't care for it), but it's still fun that Crunchy was able to show it early.

Episode 1

I smiled.

As a reader of the manga, knowing what will happen and see how the anime will show that makes me tense with excitement and feels.

In all honesty, I smiled throughout this entire episode...throughout, I say! I hardly do that for something and when I do smile without stopping, I know I enjoyed it and that it was good.

This was a great first episode and I look forward to watching and keeping up with Orange!

This is one of the few manga recently that I haven't read and I'm really looking forward to the rest of the season. I really enjoyed episode 1. The art is awesome.

Surprised CR launched this a day before the premiere.

The setting gives me a countryside feeling

Good artwork and I think it's obvious that Naho has an attraction or at least curiosity towards Kakeru, the new boy in town. Animation quality is good, a lot better than I had expected. While Naho isn't too special as a character, there's definitely room to develop her. I think it's the dialogues that attracted me in watching this series. The manga is good too as I've read it before but so far, I'm satisfied at what I've seen. Shame this will probably be just a 1 cour. 4/5.

I like the narratives used so far as well. The chemistry between Nanho and Kakeru has an appeal to it.

So... part of the first episode immediately annoyed me.

I can't fathom why, if someone got a letter from the future - specifically one that immediately begins to predict events occurring around them - they wouldn't try and read the letter as soon as possible. This girl literally waited at least a whole weekend, if not longer before she even glanced at the letter in depth, and even then, only read like the next paragraph.

Why would you not read the whole thing!?

The endings seems to suggest she does take the time to finally read the whole thing, which I hope is true. Because if this show is based off the concept that she just so happens to read the next thing in the latter right before it happens each time, and no further, I will lose my &*@!.

The concept and execution is very strong so far, and you can tell already this is going to be an emotional ride. I'm interested in seeing more of it now. If there's one complaint I have it's the art style, or more specifically the faces. Everything else looks really good but I'm just not into how the faces/eyes look here. Not a huge complaint, and a very personal one, but I know it's going to bug me all season long.

Oh, and as for not reading the letter in full, I agree. I can understand being pensive about it at the start but once you've seen there's even some truth in it, you'd have to read it all. If she doesn't then that's going to feel really unnatural.

I have read the manga and so far I like the anime. I have been watching anime for awhile and the biggest surprise is High school kids really being happy. I cant remember an anime where the group looks like the are enjoying life and happy to be alive. Simple concept but rarely done these days we will see how things unfold

I'm an anime only but I really enjoyed watching this I'll probably pick up the manga after the anime reaches its conclusion.

first episode was a decent start. though I was a little annoyed with the walking montage in the middle of the episode. We get it these guys are all happy and they are doing "crazy" things while walking home. Apparently, getting bread from your friends bakery is classified as crazy.

I think she did read the whole letter at the start, she just didn't believe it enough to act on it.

Well that was pretty much as good as it gets for a first episode. Currently my number 1 for this season.
