I have a question for the people who have read the manga and currently are watching the anime. Should I read the manga before watching the anime? I'm asking because I've seen the first episode and liked it. The manga is currently available on CR and I was wondering if it was worth reading right now. [PLEASE NO SPOILERS]

Only if you want to spoil yourself. I really don't recommend that for this show. I read it before the anime was even announced or I would have waited. If I was in your position, I'd either watch an episode and then read the chapter(s) to see any slight differences or wait until the end to read the whole thing. It seems to be following pretty closely to what I remember reading.

Episode 3

Kakeru knew that he would have no future according to that letter he wrote for the time capsule. Everybody aimed too high there in that vision of the future. Back in the present, Kakeru begins dating Ueda, and Naho is just feeling tense and out of it with that situation. I was wondering what the show's name meant seeing that there's nothing really orange about this show, and the first clue is that box of OJ Naho asked Kakeru to buy from the vending machine. Anyway, that was quite an emotional way to end it seeing that everybody's futures were not realized.

For sure. That was, in some ways, the toughest part of the episode for me especially as a slightly older person. With all of the focus on Kakeru and Naho, it was a pretty sobering moment to see that none of the group actually were able to achieve what they dreamed as teens. Sure you could say that maybe their dreams were a little too lofty or unattainable in a realistic sense but it's still sad.

Episode 3

So. Many. Feels.

As each episode airs, I am noticing the directing and it feels like I am watching an anime film or at least, it has that feel a film would have. Orange is also doing this thing where everything is a fun time and then the feels hit you in the later half of the episode.

I can guarantee you that more feels are on the way. Take it from me, a reader of the Orange manga.

To me whats great about this anime is the kids are pretty carefree and happy in high school. So when they show what happens later the sadness and crying have a big impact for the episode it has a nice style or effect

It was pretty frustrating to see her writing ''no'' on the paper...

Another great episode though, the quality is skyhigh. Definetely my favorite of the season.

I read the spoiler of how things worked as I was curious, and it makes complete sense. No paradox created.

Considering the letter came to Naho it's quite possible. I'm under the impression that he's terminally ill (or will be) and is hiding it from everyone. Hopefully I'm wrong, but it would make sense though.

Orange EP 3 / "LETTER 03"

An excellent episode despite having letter 3 Naho misses her chance (for taking too long) with Kakeru who picks Rio Ueda. 10 Years agan the friends how their futures were not to be then Kakeru future had nothing A sad moment

Does Orange come from the drink or her hair??

I didn't read the spoiler till just now. And I do know the theory in question. I'll have to read the full explanation, but for now even that theory still has a hole. I will just keep reminding myself it is just a tv show and try and relax and enjoy it fully.

It's a great show and I am enjoying it a lot despite my scientific quibbles.

I hope they do a full series with an ending. It sure deserves it. Unfortunately, most of these quality piece of anime don't usually last too long and are too overlooked by the anime community.
