Episode 4

Quite a bit of setup and action we got going on with this one.

There's definitely some shadiness going on among the town since the issue of slavery is at hand. I know for sure I don't trust Shagad, so I'm willing to bet he's up to something..

The action parts were alright with Daryun and the rest fighting off some pirates. Okay way to finish off the episode.

Episode 4

Arslan's new adventure begins as he's on a quest to recruit 50k soldiers to his cause by the orders of the king, and it begins with Gilan, a place that Alfarid has some acquaintances with. There they meet Shagad, who is a slave owner and one who believes that they are essential to the port city's success. And then pirates attack in the waters. Daryun and company go out and defeat the pirates to save the day. That was a solid way to start things here, and this was mostly setup for something big to go down seeing that Shagad seems to be a shady guy. Just what exactly is going on remains to be seen, but I get the feeling there's a lot more to Shagad that has yet to be revealed. And it looks like Graze will join the party as indicated by the ending.

Send Daryun to fight to enemy. After he pushes back 6-8 men on his own, tell them that they're fighting Daryun. Then laugh as they run away screaming. Works every time.

Episode 5

Good episode but Shagad should of never been trusted, he always gave me the feeling of being suspicious as he is a merchant and made many points that he seems to favor slavery. Wonder how Narsus plans to deal with him in the future.

Daryun and his crew were awesome this week and I have to say that Narsus' plan was brilliant as well. Not going to be easy to reform Gilan but I think they are on the right path.

Episode 5

I knew that Shagad was a shady guy, and that turns out to be the case as he's the one who helped out those pirates strategically organize their invasion, while Pelgius took advantage of the war in order to tax out the citizens so that he could live large. But it's a great thing that Narsus could see through all that, all while they got Graze on their side. That was quite a clever trick there to send Farangis to seduce Pelgius, while Gieve sneaks in to get the proof that he had been oppressing the citizens of Gilan.

Episode 6

Damn that episode was rough.

The princess at least got some form of revenge but almost at the cost of her own life. I do think she is quite brave though and I'm not surprised that Hilmes (Silver Mask) came to her recuse considering their past. Glad to see that Etoile still remains very relevant in this series, can't wait to see her meet Arslan again. I also wonder what Shagad is planning...

Hilmes actually showed some compassion the show has come a long way.I wonder what his troops thin attacking the palace of their own men but I guess nobody was killed? This story is building more and more a pirate treasure next week the gold could buy men for a army easy.

you know...

I really want that king dead.. I wouldnt mind Hilmes really killing him

In the old anime adaptation , that series ends pretty much as Arslan left and his team followed him, so I am really glad to see these parts animated
I still couldnt get cute Kaji out of my head, as he lowers his voice to deliver Hilmes lines I orginally hope it was done by a different seiyuu but its nice to see the young Hilmes and abit about his soft side and Kaji's young voice in use..

Now that Hilmes has officially ditched the Lusitanians, it looks like we might have a 3 or 4-way fight for Pars depending on whether or not Arslan and his dad work together.

Episode 6

Last time, Etoile was about to be executed, and how things came down to it, she was being accused of attempted murder of the king. What really happened is that Etoile brought Innocentis to Irina at his request, and then Irina would go on to stab Innocentis, who survived thanks to being supersized. But then some bald guy took out Etoile so that she wouldn't interfere, and that's how she was accused. Just before she and Irina were about to be executed, in comes Hilmes to save Irina, and then Alfarid's big brother would go on to save Etoile and she would ask him to bring her to Arslan. That Guiscard sure made a mess of things seeing that the town is dying out thanks to everything that has happened.

The story really is taking an interesting turn. It's funny how this season has been all just build up to much bigger events that will happen in the future, and yet the character development, especially for Hilmes, was excellent. I just hope that we get a third season after this one, but make it 25 episodes just like the first one. I don't know exactly how much of the novels is left at this point, in fact I don't even know how faithful the manga and anime are to the original novels. But I really love this series and I don't want a "read the manga or novel" kind of ending.

Episode 7

That was quite a scheme by Narsus as he showed Shagad to never mess with him. He got exposed for his crime and then some, and Narsus showed him up in a big way as Shagad sat on his ego, and that's what led to his downfall. But for all of the injustices and atrocities he committed, he gets off with only one year of hard labor. The Zot clan also played a big role in catching that crook, and the falcon came in the save the day. That was just great to see Narsus come through again. One more episode left as Etoile has come calling for Arslan to root out corruption in Ecbatana after everything that happened last week.

About time Shagad shows his true nature..
Too bad for him, Narsus had his own strategy. Shagad made his intentions obvious from the start with the way he spoke about slaves.

Good action for a penultimate episode. I feel like Narsus and Shagad has more a personal rivalry now with their ideals clashing. Really hope Shagad realizes the errors of his ways and how ironic it is that he'll be a slave for a year for punishment..
