Episode 8 (Finale)

So it ends with a three-way war having been started in Ecbatana with Hilmes trying to take his rightful place on the throne having reclaimed the sacred blade, Andragoras fighting to flex his royal muscle, and Arslan seeking to end this war in a peaceful manner. So with that, the short season ends with Arslan resolving to take back the capital in a more peaceful manner and the start of a three-way battle converging at Ecbatana. That was a solid episode there, but now it's over just like that as it only sets the stage for the battle royale to determine who claims the throne.

Final Thoughts

This season picks up right where the last one started, and while the story content is great like the first season, I was hoping that this show would go farther than it did as there is this whole mystery about who exactly is Andragoras and what really is Arslan's relationship with the king. But instead, he is exiled to go on a quest that was only partially fulfilled and with only eight episodes to work with, not much was going to get accomplished storywise. That said, it's another great story that feels like a side quest, but one with some good development. I especially like what they did with Hilmes as the show makes him much more sympathetic this season, and doing an excellent job at that. In any case, I'm hoping for some more seeing that being only eight episodes long just wasn't going to do what's needed to reach the end goal of Arslan becoming the king.

Episode 8

Well it was an alright finale, not perfect for some obvious being that there's a lack of continuation with the anime so far.

Still, I did like the focus with Hilmes returning and Arslan making his next move. So yeah, I really wish this season was longer than 8 episodes. If they ever decide to make another season, they could easily pick up from here with the storytelling. Also, is it just me or did the animation quality fall apart this season? I mean, some of the battles were just meh in terms of quality. Still, good season. 7/10.

Episode 8

And that's the end of it.

Meh, an okay season for the most part. If there is another season, it'll be welcomed because there is definitely more story to tell! I know for certain the production quality dropped compared to the first season..

Story does continue, but a chunk of it feels convenient and rushed since they only have 8 episodes to work with..

I'll miss Arslan for sure. I'd give this season a mid 7.

Sorry Etoile can't help you as I'm busy with the white whale(s) and the art club later in the day, so we'll be leaving this story open ended at only 8 episodes. Bleh just needs more of a resolution than the 3 armies off to retake the capital without resolving the post war conflicts that would arise from the reconquest. Oh well was fun watching it the 33 episodes.

I liked this series but way to short to resolve anything and to end it with all 3 armies charging on capital its major cliff dangling theme. I am going to miss tea with Arslan for sure Sunday mornings will be tough for awhile

Hopefully we get another season next year. I don't know how far the original novels went, but they're pretty old so I assume there's enough content to animate another season.

I'm going to assume that they have another season, it sold very well in Japan.

8 episodes is one of the oddest episode counts I have seen for a full season, seems very odd. I hate that they leave it at a climax. It was pretty good, I enjoyed it. Seemed like it may have been rushed a bit but I've seen much worse. It leaves me hopeful for another season to wrap everything up, I don't see why there wouldn't be one.

The Heroic Legend of Arslan 2 (Dust Storm Dance) EP 8 / Chapter VIII - The Dance of Dust Clouds

Well for the last EP they laid out a massive battle to come with a lot of apperances by other characters such as Sam / Kubard and other whom still feel loyal to Arslan but must obey Andragoras to go to Ecbatana

Other Highlights

Sam discovers the Barcacion letter but is taken by Tahamine and the letter is burned by Andragoras who admits the Throne is not as pure or without problems

Hilmes retakes the sword from Bodin who then swears revenge against all.

Guiscard is ready for a fight !

And Arslan after prodding by Etoile wiil go to try to rescue Innocentius VII despite being his enemy and against Narsus original wishes

I wish more of the Zot clan would be expained as we got just a glimpse of Merlain / Alfarid family matters and who should lead !

Yea a 5 way battle is coming ( hopefully more anime to come ? )

A good ? Hilmes seems to the heir proper to Pars but would Arslan make a better leader?

I'm thinking that Seven Deadly Sins 4-episode special.

I think your correct on Seven Deadly Sins 2 other sites are confirming your information which might not be so bad. Love Arslan but the pain will slowly go away
