Basically, what sign are you and who do you feel compatible and incompatible based on the Chinese zodiac? personally, I feel kind of uncomfortable with horses like my brother who was being moody again and an older cousin of mine, who's an ox is more cool, but anyway, let's hear it.

You do realize that astrology is complete bs, right? Which sign tells you that astrology is bs? >.>

So what is your reasoning based on? How and why is it bs? How much research have you actually done into any traditions beyond the pop astrology that is so readily eaten up these days? Im curious cause I personally haven't done much research but I doubt lineages upon lineages of people have devoted a large chunk of their life on these ideas for nothing.

Dragon, horse, and pig apparently.

But my ex-fiance was monkey and our relationship was like pulled out of ディビ, or that Supernatural episode where couples lusted for each other so much that they ate each other to death.

Sometimes, luck is a big deal. I heard that Maaya Sakamoto (another monkey) got married to a tiger man, so it has to be luck or effort.

Well as a Rabbit I should look for a rat, goat, monkey, dog or pig. Well Nice, but will stay the old fashion way, talk and see that way if somebody is interesting or annoying
Oh and forgot to write if we pull in the elements as well, then I'm a fire rabbit

Lineages upon lineages of people have also devoted a large chunk of their life to grinding up tiger penises. It doesn't mean it has any scientific basis. You're making an appeal to tradition. Most people in China still think smoking is good for you. It doesn't mean they're right.

Let me ask you this: By what possible mechanism do you think that the position of stars and planets could have any sort of effect on someone's future personality at birth? Let alone one so profound that the entirety of the human race can be neatly categorized into a handful of types? And if such a powerful mechanism did exist how does it specifically target only people born during certain time periods and not the entire planet?

No idea. I'm a monkey though. I probably should check just for the hell of it.

Idk if your looking for a debate ir by chance you are I cannot provide that. What I can provide is possibly more inquiry into this subject matter.

I personally can't say for sure considering my knowledge on astrology is quite limited and I have no experence in the subject, but from what I can gather the central belief system underlying chinese astrology/cosmology in particular is that macrocosm=microcosm and the interconnectedness of all things. That is then combined by various theories and philosophical ideas such as yin and yang, wuxing theory, bagua, yi ching, 10 celestial stems and the 12 earthly branches, and the lunar cycle and a whole bunch of other stuff that is apparently based in the observation/experence of the chinese into a whole cosmological system(Some equate this to Carl jung's idea of collective unconscious but Im not to sure of that's completely accurate.).If you want an exact idea of what mechanisms these things act upon I would recommend digging deep into these subjects, as they can get quite complex. The idea that the universe is some how deterministc is what I would consider a pop idea of the world in regards to chinese astrology since their whole cosmology suggest otherwise. All in all their whole ideas are based more in correlative and qualitative observation rather than seperating the whole of things and trying to find a cause and effect of a small part.

There are no mechanisms. You're talking about philosophy, not science. I didn't ask those questions looking for a debate. I had hoped that said questions would have fairly obvious answers. Astrology is not a science. It has no scientific basis. There are no mechanisms by which it could work and no evidence that it does work in any capacity. If there were it would have been one of the most profound scientific discoveries in modern history and given more credence than page 19 of the local newspaper.

Just because people have been doing something for a long time doesn't mean its scientifically accurate or, heck, even a good idea. I mean cripes, we use to think uranium was good for arthritis. But China especially is somewhat notorious when it comes to dubious pseudoscience.

Got anyone in your family that you really like or a buddy that you think is about to be your BFF? if so, then what's that favorite person of yours zodiac? I don't hate rabbits, but usually see them as buddies rather than close friends at best. I talked to them before and most of them barely appreciate me (which is what buddies do).

As for your zodiac sign, I consider dragons friendlier. My senior buddy back in high school named Katherine or Katie was a dragon and she was one of the smartest as well as the friendliest people I ever met back then. Sadly, we only met for one year before she graduated and had to go get her surgeon training in college. I wanted to be her boyfriend, but fate turned against our relationship. Fortunately for me, I talked to some female dragons, made friends with them years later and they are just as cool.

Well my best friend is a rabbit, while the rest are dragons as well.
