Two and a half hours passed from Funimation schedule for this but the episode is still not out yet on their site. I wonder what's their excuse.

Edit: Looks like it's out now.

Episode 1

And so it begins with Ace finding an egg, and then have a fateful encounter with Lance and they are immediately engaged in battle. Somehow, Ace has the power to create drops from a distance, which is what is keeping Lance in the fight when it looked like he was about to be defeated. Well, I'm not planning to stay for very long with this show, but for a kids show designed to market a smartphone game, it has some intrigue. I'll give it another episode just to see this fight through to the end.

Surprisingly high production value... I've played the mobile game, but there's not really much to work with in story. Curious to see where it goes. I did like the battles, though, and the characters garner some interest, too.

I'm sure it's because I play the game, but I enjoyed that way more than I should have.

Simon/Natsu plays our obligatory mysterious white-haired rival dude. And I think the MC's missing shounen dad might be played by Yuuichi Nakamura.

I'm glad that Red Sonia is going to be a major character, since she was my first main monster in the game. She'll at least be relevant to the show, now that she's so weak compared to other monsters in the game lol

Waaaaaaaait.

Why'd they turn it into another Pokemon instead of another Rage of Bahamut.

Episode 2

Sadly, not near as good as the first episode. The amazing art from before was downgraded, though that isn't too surprising. My main gripe is that our MC's magical sidekick monster is super annoying, made worse by the fact that he's important to the plot.

It wasn't all bad though. I like the other new characters, especially Charo since he will hopefully be an endless source of meta humor.

When will we see a monster besides Sonia who isn't total garbage though?

During the first half of episode 1 I was thinking this had a real chance of staying in my queue this season. Character introductions were nice and I was interested to see what happened. Interest waned as it continued, and my disappointment continued as I watched episode 2.

Not a real surprise -- this sort of show is typically not the sort I like much -- but when I see a good opening and then it just goes into unimaginative game-mechanics style action, it's lost me. This might be fun for younger folks or folks who especially like the sort of game it's promoting, but it's really got nothing for me.

Maaaaybe. I'm pretty sure the FMA I tried years ago and didn't care for was not Brotherhood, and I'm willing to consider it as a fresh start for me. I do feel I could afford to augment my familiarity with some more classic titles, just to have them under my belt even if I don't end up loving them.

Pacing seems okay so far honestly and action is decent for a cartoonishing looking show.

Meanwhile, I think the characters are rather one dimensional. And that new little monster (the one that keeps repeating "Tama") is annoying as fuck. I hope we get to see his true potential soon..

Episode 3

Man, this show is getting worse by the week. I wonder how long I can make it...

This episode in particular seemed kinda sloppy. Some of the character interactions made no sense, our Monster of the Week was total weaksauce, and our sidekick is still really annoying.

I hope this anime can get its crap together. Will Ace and Tamazo die so that it can become The Adventures of Sonia Onee-san? One can dream.

14 episodes in...I really hope they get some sort of more complex story going soon.

lol, you mean I'm not the only one still watching this show?

I really don't know why they don't introduce more characters that are actually from the game into the show. There are literally hundreds of them (many with waifu and husbando potential), and yet we get crap like Entetsu instead.
