Episode 1

So it's all about a father and daughter talking about food and seeing that the father can't cook that he's going to great lengths to make sure Tsumugi has a good meal. Then end up dining at a hole-in-the-wall and the owner's daughter cooks for her seeing that the owner is out. While Kotori's not as good a cook as her mother, anything she cooks is far better than what Kouhei can cook. And it happens to be that Kotori is a student at the school Kouhei teaches. And from that meeting, Kotori decides to cook together with her teacher. That was a delicious way to begin this show.

Episode 1 lets us see some of the trials and tribulations of a guy trying to raise his daughter by himself. The only fly in the ointment, though, is that the girl is still a student at the school he teaches at. There have been several stories in the news lately in the U.S. about teachers getting "too close" to the students. I hope this show avoids that pitfall, since otherwise it is very good so far.

Episode 1

Wonderful, I got everything from what I had expected.

Cute characters, realism, great chemistry between all the characters especially the father/daughter. And the food looks natural too, nothing too extraordinarily but just the right way it is. OP and ED theme songs are nice, the atmospheric setting feels good, and this was just perfect.

Episode of 1

Widow father is taking care of his daughter now but is not good at cooking. After meeting a girl at the park he gets a card to a restaurant and decides to take his daughter there after he sees her watch a meal on TV. Meeting the girl there she cooks them a meal to which they enjoy and inspires him to cook better for his daughter. in the the end the girl named Kotori asks to cook with her and eat.

Another cooking anime but could it just start like that and lead into more than that?

I like this anime the theme will be more comfort food and not super extravagant dishes like Foodwars. Episode one starts with a simple yet basic ingredient homemade rice. I wasn't sure it was going to work but turned out great. I really like the VA for the little girl I am guessing she is a real kid?

I feel like this show and Food Wars are like two sides of the same coin.
Sweet, adorable, light hearted and slow Vs. Competitive, action-like, over-the-top and fast

Episode 1

Adorably fantastic.

I haven't seen an anime this cute and cozy in a long time. I have heard good things about this series, so I look forward to how it will dish out the sweetness and bust out the lightning!

I did not expect to like this. My expectation was not met. That's okay. I don't mind crying-in-a-good-way over a bowl of steamed rice.

(And of course, the idea that part of good food is cooking for and eating with others--a theme that I've definitely seen elsewhere, but never as believably done as here. As someone who often eats alone, and enjoys eating alone, that whole idea usually seems overdone and hokey, but in the context of this first episode it felt genuinely meaningful, even though it' doesn't have personal value to me.)

I'm really excited for this series. I binged the manga just the other day, and it really gives a feel of homey atmosphere and realism.

Well, even before I found out who the voice actress was, her design reminds me of that hyperactive (main character) girl from Barakamon, but I don't think it was Hina.
