Like other users have said, this show is a little like Daimidaler, but without the hyper-enthusiastic (LOL) protag-kun. Also a little like Valkyrie Drive because of the oppai factor, but no yuri (alas).

Is that surprising? You did make it through Valkyrie Drive, IIRC.

Not surprising. Just because it's trashy doesn't mean I might not watch it.

Not only did I make it through Valkyrie Drive, I mostly liked it. It did its thing well. This one might too.

I did drop Daimidaler pretty quickly though because of how the female character, at least through the first few episodes I watched, was clearly only allowing the fondling under duress, and all the pleasure and power went to the guy. At least here in Hybrid x Heart, even though there was lack of conscious consent, the female character gets power from the interchange and the premise doesn't seem to be that she's just a convenient object there to turn on the protag. (She might be a convenient object to turn on the viewer, but that's a different thing.)

What in the world are you talking about here, Grandpa Joe?

I read a news article in which they said that Japan (although someone is telling me that it was in China, I'll have to look it up) would not allow more stories like the ones we see in Re:Zero and Konosuba in which an otaku is transported or reincarnated into a parallel fantasy world. They said that these stories are flooding the market, so to me it makes sense that they will ban magical/supernatural ecchi harem stories at some point.

That's China, genius. CHINA.

God fucking damn it, if it's China and not Japan then the problem of lacking originality will never end. Still, thanks for correcting me, although using capital letters in China wasn't necessary, I can read perfectly you know? You don't have to yell at me.

There's also no reason to use that much profanity or be that hostile on a casual forum about anime. ^_-

Yeah you're right, I know, sorry about that It's just that I'm sick of these ecchi harem shows that are all identical to each other and that don't have anything good to offer, not even good comedy. I was furious after watching this first episode . I just want Japan to make an effort and stop making these low quality shows.

Every country's entertainment industry is going to make products of varying quality, and most of them are going to be bad. The overwhelming majority of them, actually, are going to be bad. Japan does this, America does this, Canada does this, Mexico, Britain, EVERYONE.

Read up on a little thing called Sturgeon's Law, then just appreciate the good things when they come along. ^_^

Read all the negative comments and decided based on them I HAVE to watch this lol.

It was pretty tame IMO, I rarely watch ecchi fanservice shows like this on simulcast due to censorship unless they're comedy based but apart from borderline hentai premise I felt there was no need for censorship here at all (no one is even naked).

The actual issue with the show was distinct lack of action - HotD or Freezing work because it's action laced with boobs I think... this was the opposite. All that time dedicated to censored boob squeezing... then 3 seconds of her destroying an entire army in one attack off screen? Was hoping for a Cross Ange style anime with boobs, battles and a good story featuring mech welding ladies but I'm not optimistic on this one.

So yeah, curiosity killed the cat based on the posts in this thread and I dare say it's nowhere near as bad as some of you make it out to be but yeah it's got its target audience in mind and only them. Shame, I'll give episode 2 a go but unlikely I'll see this one through to the end.

It was so bad I thought it was funny though I'm not sure I'd watch any more of it. There will always be bad shows made and it's not just shows that come from Japan. Plenty of other countries do their best to make trashy shows and try sell them to people with lots of nudity and sex.

I'm going to love this show simply because.

And the character designs.

Yeah yeah. That's all.

"Game of Thrones" has lots of nudity and sex, not to mention extreme violence. Its also a great show.

true but season 5 was viewed by many as having gone too far and as a result season 6 had far less nudity and sex in it

Cersei Laninister's Walk of Shame wasn't meant to be sexy at all, Lena Headey even told the press her scene wasn't for titillation. On the other hand, I do think Daenerys Targaryen looks nice au natural, her bath scene in season 3 and her standing in front of the flames (do I have a feeling that ice is her weakness?) in season 6.

Yeah... I'm no doubt going to continue watching this, but not for its deep story and character development.

Episode 1: Strategic Defense Academy Ataraxia

Lol I swear the hate that this show is getting is hilarious. I mean what do you expect when walking into a high school magical battle harem? Well they did kind of go over the top.

Surprisingly though it was creative in its how the whole Hybrid stuff works. Sure they probably could have done it a different way but this is most likely aimed at people who like this stuff and not the general audience.

That being said, I liked it. Yes it is cringy, and was pretty over the top, will probably watch the AT-X version instead, unless CR can somehow grab the AT-X version now that the TV station cancelled it.

Anyways I am looking forward to typical harem shenanigans and what not, the usual package that comes with this kind of stuff.
