The scope of anime is far and wide measure both in its quality and quantity. They are a mountains too high, rivers too wide, and valleys too low. A bountiful threshold of anime that are unseen and invisible to the naked eye. One can only hope that a lone viewer and their pitiful human eyes will spot gold.

But at last we have you, the eagle eyed consumer of anime who have stumbled( and or probably tripped ) upon our community/group.

You are the apex of our measly pecking order and we are not looking for you to start your coup just yet. In this mediocre forum we ask you to lend us your climbing gear, your boat, and your eyes to help everyone here find the shows they have been searching for. So please, drop an anime recommendation here and immerse yourself in our super cool group.

This list is of anime's I've seen at least 4 episodes of and can guarantee at least some form of mystery in.
This means I've missed some mystery animes that maybe you thought were amazing.
If so, please tell me so I can watch it too!
If you think that certain animes I've listed don't count, that's fine. Tell me off if it upsets you and I'll read it.
The animes are listed into three groups.
I know the forum asked for recommendations, but I started typing and ended up with a list. I don't want to waste all that time typing for nothing so my recommendations have a next to them.
My personal favorite of mystery based animes (not all animes everjust the mystery genre) will have a .
BTW SORRY FOR THE WALL OF TEXT
For people who want serious stuff:
Speed Grapher (very gross at the begining and more of an action show at times)
King of Thorn
Death Note (can't be a mystery fan if I forget this one right)
Mushi-shi (paranormal in a way that doesn't follow traditional methods)
Death Parade (very psychological)
Death Billiards ( Death Parade is loosely based on this)
Game of Laplace
Ghost Stories (SUB)
Ghost Hunt
Amnesia
Another (psychological and paranormal)
Shiki (most logical vampire story ever)
Serial Experiments: Lain (slow and weird)
Un-Go
Beautiful Bones
For people who want comedy but still a mystery to solve:
Danganronpa
Dusk Maiden of Amnesia ( focuses more on slice of life while slowly solving mysteries)
Ghost Stories (DUB) (Yes they are EXTREMELY different between SUB and DUB versions)
Case Closed ( very serious at times)
For people who want more of a balanced anime:
Steins;Gate (more serious but has tons of scenes to laugh at right before doing something sad)
Chaos;Head (related to Steins;Gate)
Robotics;Notes (related to Steins;Gate)
Higurashi no naku Koro ni (starts with comedy but quickly becomes something gory and interesting)
Umineko no Naku Koro ni ( related to Higurashi no Naku Koro ni)
Lupin the Third (kinda slow but appeals to many emotions and age groups)
Ace Attorney (I recommend the games first)
R.O.D. the T.V. (Read or Die the tv program)
Eden of the east
Orange ( slice of life but has a long running mystery in it)
Haibane Renmei (slow and tbh not a great mystery imho)
Gakkou Gurashi (heartbreaking in some parts)
XXXHolic
Persona 4 The Animation (has a newer Golden version)
Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle (more of an action and bonding type anime but has many mysteries)
Durarara! (most balanced anime on the list)

Don't worry, awesome list. I have seen some of them that you pointed out. I would give the other shows a try. Thanks for the reply :)

Hmmm I have many different anime that I love, while I think on this a bit longer I will highly recommend a comedy anime named: Ore no Nounai Sentakushi ga, Gakuen Love Comedy wo Zenryoku de Jama Shiteiru, named My Mental Choices Are Completely Interfering With My School Romantic Comedy in English. You may find it right here on CR.
