Plot Summary

It is thirty years after the failure of the Space Colonization Program. Humanity is nearly extinct. A perpetual and deadly Rain falls on the Earth. Men known as "Junkers" plunder goods and artifacts from the ruins of civilization. One such Junker sneaks alone into the most dangerous of all ruins—a "Sarcophagus City." In the center of this dead city, he discovers a pre-War planetarium. And as he enters he is greeted by Hoshino Yumemi, a companion robot. Without a single shred of doubt, she assumes he is the first customer she's had in 30 years. She attempts to show him the stars at once, but the planetarium projector is broken. Unable to make heads or tails of her conversation, he ends up agreeing to try and repair the projector...

Note: there's also a movie version but the ONA series is out for now. Funimation has the stream this week (1.5 day delay)

Can't wait for it! I really enjoyed the VN and interested, how much they got that feeling, that the VN has in it. I hoped that CR could get it streamed, but I'll have to look another way.

Wait, did they just go ahead and animated an over a decade old VN?
Holy, they did! Now I'm not sure what I should be more excited about, that it's this VN (it's good imho) or that older VN's have a chance too

Funimation uploaded their episode now
http://www.funimation.com/shows/planetarian/home

Edit: finished it.

That was actually strange and cute the same time. Hoshino (the robot girl) introduces herself and we see how this series' world works. Meanwhile, I find it peculiar that there's almost no human left in their world. The Space Colonization Program gave me an experimental feel about the plot as well. The anime seems lighthearted so far but with also darker themes. It's only about 20+ minutes long so there wasn't too much but introducing the general premise for now. I'll look forward to more to see how it develops.

4 episodes left and movie.

I thought this episode was supposed to be coming in the evening, but apparently they messed up the am and pm just like they did with Love Live Sunshine.

Episode 1

That was a pretty stark contract between times there. Hoshino is acting as if the place is still running for 30 years, while the city is a ghost town having been torn apart by war. But the broken projector is certainly something worth saving. That was pretty touchy feely there with a clash of lightheartedness and the dark, grim reality.

Episode 1

I was surprised this being done by David Production, aka, the JoJo guys!

Looking forward to watching this as the OVA airs. If it's available, I'd also love to try out the visual novel as well!

I liked first episode but was wondering why only18:45 seconds in length that seems odd, curious how this anime goes in direction.

Planetarian: The Reverie of a Little Planet EP 1 / The Robot's Bouquet

That was good / not only is the planterium needs repairs but Yumemi needs reirs too but is the nicest robot. The Junker at first ignores / dislikes her but when he leaves comes back I liked Plastic Memories / Coppelion so its interesting

A sad goodbye from her creators

Doing her job / I feel sorry for her having tech problems

She has some memory

This city has been dead for over thirty years, abandoned after the biological weapons strike rendered it uninhabitable. A lone man prowls the dead streets, looking for useful loot. He stumbles across something he never expected - a warm greeting.

I'm usually very suspicious of anime based on VN's and Manga, but this does sound interesting. It reminds me a little of Sunday Without God for some reason despite having almost nothing in common with it except for a post apocalyptic setting.
