Yes I have struggled through many in attempt to achieve the much coveted No Drop achievement.

No drop

You will get it if your stats are 50+ completed and zero dropped. Pretty hard to obtain and very easy to lose.

Completionist: You've managed to survive watching so many anime without dropping any of them.
You masochist.

I sometimes actually enjoy watching bad anime as this allows you to understand what makes shows good. This can also be an interesting though exercise as you can not only figure out what is wrong, but why is it wrong, where did it go wrong, and how would you fix this if you this was you on apart of the animation team. Every anime can teach you something although the amount varies wildly between projects.

Photo Kano took this away from me.

I think you should at least watch the last episode (maybe last two episodes?) as they're pretty enjoyable, and even though you skipped a bunch, you should be able to pick up the pieces from there XD

There's no good reason to force yourself to keeping watching a show you don't like just because it's "popular". Most of the best shows I've seen weren't "popular". That doesn't mean a blasted thing. Oh, and for the record I didn't finish Death Note either.

If you want to finish it though, get in at least one episode a day or so and maybe you'll get to a part where you'll want to watch more in one sitting.

Don't do this to yourself. Life's too short.

I remember when Shojo Beat was a thing (as an actual print magazine in the US) and I tried to force myself to read Vampire Knight in it every month. After a few months of opening it and being like, "Now who was that character again?", I realized I just didn't care, and I should spend my time doing something better.

Also, for the person who said Cardcaptor Sakura... there is no reason why anyone should watch that anime. Read the manga. The manga is amazing and the 90's anime just fails to capture any of what's good about it. I heard they're remaking it - it deserves it.

Watching Reborn to the first battle arc (like 20 episodes or so in) was one of the most dreadful experiences I've had watching anime.

Once I got to the arc though I couldn't stop watching.

To be fair though Death Note sucks after the first half (episode 26 onwards) in my opinion, shame you felt that way so near the end.

I found Blue Exorcist a chore to watch but did manage to finish it, but I was close to dropping it.

You can always pick a show back up later, assuming you can find it again. Don't force your way through something that you don't find entertaining.

I never force myself through anime. It degenerates me if i do. I usually just jerk of too it and then pray for Jesus to forgive me and go to Church

I don't think I really force myself to watch any anime unless you count sitting through Naruto and One Piece before Parasyte comes on Toonami. That's pretty rough. Other than that, nah. I've done it more with manga. I tend to buy like 2-3 volumes of a manga before I judge it, and it's gotten me some pretty bad books. Current pain is Dogs: Bullets & Carnage. It was so boring and confusing, and literally no questions get answered for 2 volumes. I just put it back on my self to never pick up again.

I am currently watching Death Note, and it has gotten severely boring since episode 20 or so. I am forcing myself to continue watching it, but it's getting painful (sorry to all of you Death Note fans). I'm trying to continue watching it because it seems like Death Note is one of those animes you have to watch because it's so popular, and after already watching 27 episodes it would be a waste of time to stop with 10 episodes left and not know the ending.

Have any of you had this problem with an anime? And someone please tell me Death Note gears up again at the end lol.

No need to force yourself, once it's no longer entertaining for you to watch drop it. I did, I skipped to the last one then that was it. I enjoyed it up until that bit then that was it for me. I can still talk about a series if I didn't watch the whole thing and my views will still be valid. I'd just talk about what I had actually watched, nothing more.

I don't drop very frequently, but I also don't watch a lot of anime without prior knowledge of it. I dropped Big Order pretty quickly and I've been struggling to get through it simply so I can have complete thoughts on it. But then again, I'm a bit of a critic, so maybe other people can just drop things more easily than I can.

You lasted longer than I.

Dropped it at episode 19. First half was mostly great. And then it went to shit. And from what I hear, It doesnt get better.

Similarly forced myself through 8 episodes of Shigatsu and hated every minute of it. Dropped.

But I've pushed through series with bad starts and ended up liking them too. Chuunibyou for example. Also Eureka Seven got way better by the end.

Death Note, the anime about a hero setting himself up and coming out to be a villain cause the plot is trying so hard that even batman rolls his eyes at it. Seriously, I think I made it to about 12 episodes and gave up....so much talking and "WHAT IF!" for the characters as they try to figure out who is who when in the end the great detective and the villain are hiding their identities from being caught or killed.....Pot meet Kettle from the other point of view. I hate it when the plot tries too hard to make the story interesting, sometimes it is the twist in the end when you don't have a dozen filler episodes cause you already knew at the beginning 90% of the plot cause the writer told you.
