Not lovin' it. Hate the painted on doll eyes look and the frequency with which that design is used. But I'm willing to watch another episode or two to see if the characters/story grows on me enough to make it worth while to keep up with.

I loved the tone of the first episode and I really like school outfit designs for the girls. A huge departure from the anime norm. They look so cute and elegant. Makes me want to cosplay one. So far I'm liking the characters we've met. Sensei would be an awesome homeroom teacher to have.

I must admit the "doll face" art style threw me off. Mostly because of how long it would last on Pikari. I'm used to reaction faces but not for it to stay that way for so long. By the end of the episode I was more thrown off by her normal face than the doll face. But I think I can come to enjoy the style.

Also, Oba-chan Best Girl.

That's my thought... The story and characters look interesting enough, but the muppet/puppet look moments are *very* off putting.

As others have said, they way way way overdid the whole funny face bits, with both of the girls. I'm not against the funny face in a potentially more serious story and it was funny the first couple of times but then they just kept going back to that same well over and over again (and it wasn't even like they varied it at all). I also personally found Hikari to be frankly more annoying than endearing.

I didn't have much thought for this series at all, positive or negative, prior to watching Episode 1 but I was left less than impressed.

It sucks too because it seems like this may be ending up in a yuri direction and I always love to see more yuri so I'd like to support it, but I don't want to support a show I'm just not that into just because it's in a genre I would love to see more of. (and yes, of course, it might not be yuri at all. That's just the vibe I'm getting).

As I watched and loved Aria, I'm sure I will like this.

Not bad, but Hikari's genki-ness is WAY overplayed. It does look pretty so I guess I'll keep up with it for a while longer but if they don't tone down the ''funny faces'' I'll probably get annoyed and drop it.

I really enjoyed the first episode and I actually like the facial expressions they make. Will continue to watch.

I like the changes in art style/faces. It's something I never get tired of (Nisekoi, for example).

Looks like it will be a fun series, and I hope they do spend a fair amount of time juggling their school and social lives. As someone who isn't a fan of water, I do enjoy watching things about the oceans and everything in it.

Ep 1

The first episode was really calming with the music and ocean theme, and the characters look nice, save for the whole puppet face thing. I'm okay with it when used in a comedic manner, but it was way overused here. The faces weren't varied either. I don't think that aesthetic is going anywhere though, so it's something viewers are probably going to have to get used to. Definitely some yuri vibes towards the end there. Not that I'm complaining of course.

Episode 1: The Story of the Girl and the Ocean

This is gonna be my relaxing show of the season. Much like Flying Witch last season, this show creates an atmosphere that makes it a joy to watch, combining a relaxing OST with great visuals, so even if not much is happening, you can really appreciate what's going on, on screen.

I for one, love those deadpan faces, but they are kind of overused, but I can tolerate it. Looks like I need to check out Aria though since people have been referencing it.

That ocean setting is gorgeous. Has a very different feel from that of a countryside setting. Can't wait to see them in the water. Already looked beautiful when Pikari was chilling in the water with her barrel.

Looking forward to the next one. I also like those uniforms. Nice change of pace from the usual short skirts. Panty outlines are where its at

KyoAni would cringe at those uniforms being dresses and not magical mini skirts but I don't dislike them. They are a nice switch up. Though the boots with dresses though lmao

There's not really anything that hasn't been said already super chill show, hope it continues to be really good.

I found the girls uniforms odd but interesting, perhaps intentionally evocative of a mermaid silhouette. I was actually kind of sad that the guys uniform is the same typical school uniform as usual though. Sure the show isn't really about the guys per se but still that really stood out to me.

They are very similar to the Undine uniforms in her other series, Aria.

Asses, relaxing pace, calming music, genki as **** character, boobs and asses, diving (I used to free dive) oh yeah and school uniforms that emphasis asses. Also butt face cat.

It should be the law that every anime season has at least one slow paced SoL, they are always one of the highlights for me.
