Episode 1

Thought I'd hate this but was hooked within the first three minutes. Beautifully animated and MC is a badass.

They definitely picked a rarer setting then usual, but I love it!

Can't wait to see what they all get mixed up in.

I had very high hopes for this one, and I wasn't disappointed at all. This first episode was excellent, the animation was really good and the story is interesting. Character motivations are also pretty clear for the MC and his friend. I'll definitely keep an eye on this one for the rest of the season because it looks like it will only get better with time, let's hope it turns out that way.

Pretty much what I expected. It just didn't hook me at all. Sure it looks and sounds good but the whole Godfather mafia thing has never appealed to me at all. I can appreciate what it's doing, and it seems to be doing it well given the reception so far, but I just have little to no interest in it. I'll probably give it another episode or two to see if it grows on me but that's about it.

Solid story-telling, but--my god!--the artwork!!! I'd watch this even if it had no dialogue!

Exactly! I was saying after the first few minutes, that I almost didn't care about the story because it was just so appealing to look at. And then the story-telling is also very good... so far at least. Not an especially original story, but seems quite well-done, and its the sort of story I enjoy.

I'm in.

Ep 1

I was expecting it to be good, and I still ended up pleasantly surprised by how much I liked the first episode. Production values were quite high, and the music was amazing. The setting isn't the most original, but I do like these mafia style stories, so I don't mind at all. The main character is a cool guy with a very clear motive. High hopes for the series, for sure. The entire episode played out like a movie, in my opinion, and I really like that. Also props to the character designs, seeing as everybody looks unique so far. It's pretty easy for male characters to end up looking similar in these types of shows.

The artwork, animation is amazing .
Storywise, its interesting.

But I am afraid there is going to be lots of blood in this one .

This would be good dubb.

Great original setting. I do like that they didn''t chose an actual, named location. Sometimes those kind of details can be distracting. Overall, kinda reminds me of Sergio Leone's Once Upon a Time in America. I love to look at background details, like the phone sign. I'm old enough that I can vaguely recall these still being around, as Bell wasn't broke up until like 1984.

Going to assume that Nero who was looking downstairs at the beginning is the same nero at the end

The real (Alcohol) Prohibition era happened in the USA, the trailer shows an old Italian/european looking city setting.
Is it set in a fictional country/alternate 1930s?

I'm still curious about the series.
To those who've seen it, is it as good as you expected it to be?

As far as I know, it's set in a fictional town in the U.S.

I see, I guess they wanted to blend the mafia/gangster theme usually linked with Chicago and New York with an old European looking like town/city setting.
