I do hope Crunchyroll rolls this out with a Baccano style dub as part of them stepping up to be a full distributor. This show is amazing

I like it if not just because it eschews the typical anime tropes. The revenge story is nothing new at least not in other western mediums very much the same as any going back to shakespeare. But the characters are done well and the setting is very nice. I don't like to judge an anime solely on the animation because that is like the icing on a cake and if the cake is five months old and has more than a little mold on it icing isn't going to make it better. Though to be fair it might make it a bit sweeter. Still 91 days has so far done very well it's broken off from the norm in an effort to tell a story more in line with other mediums. More and more animes have been cliche and generic with rather forgettable characters. So much so that generally just by looking at the cover you can tell what it's going to be like. 91 days are those few shows that make me not turn completely away from anime just yet because in the clutter there is still people using anime for what it should be to tell grand stories. I really hope they don't go off the deep end and keep this pace up.

This series does a great job at capturing the cinematic feel of movies such as Godfather while still being its own thing. Loving it so far.

Here's a funny thing I've found

Yea, Godfather was kinda boring at parts. How long did this prohibition thing last, decades?

Nah, I'm asking about the anime in particular (his parents were part of it). Unless the mafia just dealt in drugs before/after alcohol.

I know the timeskip lasted 7 years and the story will take 91 days so it checks out.

I am really liking this show so far, its so gritty. Its like nothing else this season which is good thing! I am having quite the tasks with all the names being thrown around though. I need to take notes and make a diagram to help remember all the players lol. So glad I picked this up this season. I am hoping for a happy ending but...revenge stories rarely end in the favor of the "protagonist".

Episode 4

Avilio and Nero go camping as they have gotten out of town and need a place to take a snooze for the night. But there is no time to rest as a hitman from the Orco family has been sent, a hulking Mexican dude. He proves to be quite a tough guy there, and it took multiple gunshots and a stab in the back to take down this giant. Those two seem to get along with each other even though Nero is the one who tried to kill Avilio and failed to do so, though he doesn't know that the guy is standing next to him. That was a solid episode there, and relatively lighthearted given the tricks and the groin kick.

Episode 4

That was a fun episode. Who was the big guy though? Seemed to have no relation to the plot besides just getting Nero and Avilio to work together. Mission accomplished, I guess?

Ailio smiled his first real smile since he was a child. Ough. This revenge is going to hurt.

Good episode and now there was four that fateful night. Guessing the one that sent the letter to him is possibly the fourth man maybe. Just a guess

Maybe Avilio might keep Nero alive for a little while longer until he knows who the fourth man is since he gotten that letter it only mentioned three names.

I'm going to guess the fourth guy is the one who sent the letter, which is why his name wasn't included. He's probably just trying to betray the Vanetti family without getting his hands dirty by using Angelo.
