The character interaction were actually fun to watch. The plot was brief, but it makes some sense. Hope the story will progress a bit more though. As I am sure that will be the case after the end of the second episode. The character development seem like it will be a huge aspect to most or well ALL of the characters, which I would want to see how that will play out. The music were amazing, Canaria's song in the first episode were quite a catchy one. With the fan service in the second episode, I thought I would hate it. But, it wasn't that bad compared to most harem type of beach fan service episodes. Each episode had some good comedy and fun moments to it. As this was developed by three different authors, not too sure if they were thinking of each episode showing each pair separately at first. Which I would be fine with unless it gets dragged on like that for the whole series. Will keep on watching this one, as it was quite a fun watch and a good refresher. As the action were good, seeing how powerful all of the characters is tho that was quite fun.

Episode 3

Shit sure got real here as that Leviathan-class enemy is no pushover like those other enemies Ichiya defeated. He thinks that his comrades are deadweight, but he couldn't have been more wrong. He just rushed into battle thinking that Canaria's song would be enough, but she has her limits, and now they retreat. Ichiya had been way over his head, but after this, hopefully that will make him more humble now that he has experienced defeat.

Did Canaria collapse from over-work, or did someone shoot her?

Seemed to me like she was shot/stabbed (?) in the back. So were there enemies behind them, or unknown enemies among them?

I have to admit, while I like this overall, a big minus is the supposed motivation for Ichiya to want to everything himself. Just seems a bit thin and one of the more less unrealistic ones they could have picked. I would have been more convinced by him feeling abandoned and unprotected by the world as child had made him convinced that he should never rely on anyone else to protect him or others. While that may sound the same as in the anime it isn't. In the anime he wants to do everything so he's the only one protecting Canaria, which just is slightly silly to me. He would have seemed more sympathetic and human if this was about trust issues and having trouble depending on others.

Qualidea Code is so aggressively good in pulling off cliches that despite its relative genericness, it just works.

The tropes. THE TROPES! The series should be called "Stolidea Code".

Oh noes! Canaria is hurt! But how? We're not going to tell you! Just have feels for her even though it's only the third episode and we haven't really given you a reason to invest in her besides her being the "good girl genki" character. Oh, and she's the fan service character so you better hope she pulls through or no more fan service!

I do try not to be down on an anime but about the only vaguely interesting parts are the ones with the adults and that's just because they're obviously in on some secret which I'm moderately interested in learning.

That end card was the best part of the episode.

*looks at previous episode*

I think we'll be fine without her. She's my least favorite of the entire bunch, anyway. Reminds me too much of Yurika from Nadesico.

I could be wrong but I was under the impression that she overexerted herself. I am also guessing that Canaria probably sustained some permanent injury during the initial invasion, and that's why Ichiya is so determined to be able to fight well on his own and protect her.

Episode 4

Everybody was able to get away thanks to Hotaru and Hime. At the very least, seeing Canaria injured made Ichiya more humble. But before he can receive any form of punishment, he has a job to finish, and this time everybody is helping him out under his command. And not only is Canari going to be fine, but she's back onto the battlefield and while they could have settled for sending the monster away, Canaria's song made it possible for Hime to deliver the decisive blow. The action is pretty good, though some of it is pretty silly like the train maneuvering.

And just when things were going well, something came out of nowhere to hit Canaria. She has been through a lot of hell already, and now this happens. Whoa, boy!

Getting good so far. Ending made my jaw dropped a lot.

At least good thing that came out is Ichiya humbled himself. Though why am I getting a bad feeling about something that these creatures aren't the only things they have to worry about?
