Wow, that animation was just dreadful... for the entire episode almost. The turn seemed a bit too quick for MC, too. I do love the designs... whent hey look the way they are supposed to... OST is great, at least.

But yeah, so did they just kill Canaria? Gonna have to mix up that OP sequence..

I was honestly expecting that to happen. It's kind of a staple of these anime to have everything go smooth then smack you with tragedy. For some reason though I'm not really attached to Canaria, I prefer Hime.

Well that escalated quickly. Was it me or did anyone get the impression that something was gonna awaken inside someone or a transformation was coming?

Well, the title was kind of a giveaway... I was still a bit shocked, though.

I'm just going to pretend this was a four episode series and it ended during the flight scene in the credits between Icchan and Canaria. *sage nod* I think that's for the best.

Well, is it true to me either, I would prefer Hime,
But he has/had (idk) a long-term relationship with Canaria, so, it could ended more smoothly, or let her say "I love you" to literally destroy him.
But, even if I would like to see Hime and him together, doesn't look will end this way, will end he being sad about everything and probably may forget his "evolution" to a person that actually can count on others and be the same blockheaded closed one "I'm am a badass"

I fear you're right about Ichiya's future evol- he'll lose whatever progress he made. Though that looked like a surgical strike directly targeted at Canaria, and their CO knew about it, or the danger of it (and if that is the case he should have told Canaria and Ichiya). Wonder though if that will really be the end her. Have a funny feeling we haven't seen the last of her.

I have the same feeling that this is not the end of Canaria

Episode 5

It would be great to have Maihime and Hotaru running the Tokyo branch, but Maihime prefers to have Ichiya do it as he's out of it with Canaria MIA. Maihime sure has an interesting way of lightening the mood there. As for the attack, the enemy took out all students from the rear with Aoi being the only survivor, and something is definitely up. And something big is about to go down there with the enemies appearing from the sky. Aside from the humorous parts that felt out of place, that was a decent episode as it featured the two best characters of the show rallying the troops. Still, there's a lot that is yet to be explained.

No way Canaria is actually dead, inb4 she's coming back in the final episodes as the mind-controlled final boss. If she were dead, I'd be so disappointed to say the least, like they did it and how they wasted opportunity for even MORE impact.

some of the still frames are gross but i don't dislike this anime, i don't really know what else to say till next week lol

Going to assume that Canaria is not dead even though the show portrays that she is. No way they can just kill the poster girl of the series like that. If she comes back like an edgy antagonist at the end, I'm going to laugh because it would be the most cheesy and predictable plot device.

Meanwhile, it feels like the higher ups are hiding something.

Subaru went full hollow of emotions this episode. Not even Hime can snap him out of it? Meh.

That was a better episode, animation and story wise. I feel like it's obvious that the Unknown can read the code on these students and are able to directly target and eliminate them. Going through the no-entry zone left them exposed, they must have got their codes read, and that's why they were taken out. They even mentioned how they swapped Aoi's code so that she would be fine now. Plus the end of this episode where the codes lit up on the students when the Unknown invaded.

I'm captured enough to ride this out. Hime was really good this ep, but it felt... rushed.

Garnidelia ED was nice, too. I don't know if Canaria is really dead or not, but we saw no body and the OP is the same. This isn't some sort of Madoka thing, I think, where the ED became much heavier and foreboding after episode 3, it was just character focused.

I wonder what gets Subaru out of his shell... Bet it'll be his favorite lethargic buddy.
