Hime seems to have a past it seems. Somehow I like her more then anyone else.

As for the higher ups, why I get the feeling they are hiding something really bad? Like maybe someone in the past maybe is what is responsible for the unknowns attacking.

I don't mind something like that, but would be good to know about the invaders maybe.

Will agree with what some of the posters have already said, I too... will be assuming Canaria is not dead. I just dont see it. Regardless of what they intend to do, I am really enjoying this quite a bit. Hime is my favorite character in this and man. Really enjoyed this episode because of this personal preference. Some interesting things are starting and shady things are happening with the higher ups. Will most definitely continue this ride. Also, hopefully they reduce the amount of animation fails like last episode displayed lol

I agree that Canaria is probably not dead, if she is, she was about the only reason the show was worth watching. (and she's still in the intro)

The Hime spotlight was ok this episode and the mystery surrounding the codes will keep me coming back for right now.

You see groups of five, two guys and three girls, frequently in Anime. That was the first thing I thought of when they had a group of six.

I'm mostly sure Canaria is dead. I'm not talking "show me the body dead", but rather "there is no need for a body" dead. My complaint is in spite of that, until the last half, most everyone was business/emotions as normal except for Suzaku. Sure not everyone may have liked/cared about Canaria but there should have been more of a follow-up. I was glad when I saw the funeral, but disappointed when I realized it was a flashback.

You can make claims that this is war ect. ect. but at least they should have shown us the grief felt by the students at Tokyo. All we got was that students were still depressed days later when Hime showed up. The whole thing made it feel like only one person really even cared about Canaria's death. One or two people staying strong is one thing: but if were are expected to believe she was well liked by most of the people we need affirmation of that somewhere.

In short, the first half seemed to undercut the gravity of the situation, making the second half feel like it was late to the show. A little bit of tenderness for the grief stricken audience is all I ask; is that too much?

Last note: now I get the feeling more of the main cast will be dead before the end. If they can kill off Canaria right after she gets out of the hospital then no one is safe.

So I just marathoned the first 5 episodes. It seems to me that the adults never fended off the Unknown and are simply sacrificing the hurt/weak/stale "World" children by putting them "inside". I'm guessing that the "inside" is really just out past the safe zone markers, and the sacrifices are being used as bait to keep the Unknown from coming into the city. I'm backing this based on the fact that the Unknown seem to be able to specifically mark and target "World" children that enter the not-safe zone. The adults replaced Aoi's "code" right away once they learned she had been marked as to possibly protect her, but more importantly to protect the location of their HQ. Further, Aoi got a feeling of malicious intent when she made contact with the pink hair HQ lady, (was Aina her name?) and in episode 3 the other HQ doctor lady clearly made it sound like they were sacrificing the people they were sending inside with the conversation unless the subtitles were misleading.

Guys that was totally a death flag on Hotaru, or possibly even Hime. Well one of the two seems like they won't make it out next battle

Episode 6

Maihime sure is fit to lead this team as it was just chaos out there. But she restored order with her leadership in a big way, and then she saved Airi when she was getting reckless. Her backstory is explained as she's a huge admirer of her grandfather to the point that she wears his blazer with pride, and she got those hair clips from Airi. So now, Maihime stays back to fend off the monsters by herself as everybody is able to evacuate. That was quite a story about Maihime all showing just how great she is.

If Mahime dies...

Nope, I hope she doesn't. My guess is that Hotaru will show up at the last minute. Also, Suzaku snapped lolol

I honestly have no idea whats gonna happen. From last of explanations of what the unknown are or why they are here, or what the world powers are to wtf the adults are hiding. One thing is for sure, this anime lacks explanations. From the steady downfall of animation quality to guessing who the main character is. One moment you think its Canaria and this guy, and then Canaria dies and this guy suddenly becomes a background character...
2 out of 5 stars this episode. How much lower can Qualidea Code go? I feel like this anime went downhill after they killed of Canaria without a second thought, in 1 second, after the freaking credits. I wouldn't be surprised if by the end, they all dead and we get a shitty ending the way its going. This anime will most likely get the Glasslip award.

Not sure what to think of this. Can't help but feel they'll all die and the unknowns will just overrun them all.

Just this feeling I'm getting.

Maihime is too badass to die. But if she does, it better be badass.

Look she's about to fight the unknown, bare handed. Like bruh.

Thinking that Hotaru and Asuha will either arrive just in time or right when it's too late

To me, it's reached the point where the death flags are so clear that they're more likely to be a red herrings. At least, I hope they are.
