OP is overreacting a bit.

The game is really encouraging a lot of people to get outdoors, and there's a lot of social interaction happening that wouldn't have happened otherwise. It really is a nice event unfolding.

In addition, most stories about Pokemon GO and tragedies are not true. The worst that happened is that someone found a corpse in a river.

just played today for the first time, and got some exercise walking around a police center, cops laughed when we told him we were playing pokemon go. Talked to other people playing, so I think there is more social interaction now instead of what OP is saying.

so lighten up, it's all in good fun.

On July 7, one day after its release, Pokémon GO had more Android installations than Tinder in US, and by July 8 it was on 5.16% of US Android devices. | https://www.similarweb.com/blog/pokemon-go

I love Pokemon but I'm not interested in this I'd rather keep my phone than wander into an area where I could get it stolen.

In all honesty I actually find it a bit funny for some odd reason lol. I mean it's basically all over the local news and everywhere you look in all honesty.

Me I don't have a good enough phone to play it in all honesty. My phone is from 2010 and can't handle modern apps lol have to look for old apps.

I actually love the social interaction part. I would be playing and people are like" Ah he is totally playing Pokemon Go.", we talk for a bit about what team we are on and the pokemon we have caught. I was in Taco Bell getting a bite before work, over heard two guys talking about the game; ended up talking with them, while I waited for my food. Just today I ran into a guy who was looking for a Pinsr while I was looking for Koffing, and we walked around looking for both together. I'm normally not overly social IRL so the game has definitely helped me in that area.

It's just people having a good time. Nothing really wrong with it imo. People that don't go out are going out because of the game and I see it as a good thing. I like seeing people have a good time. Let's be honest. If someone is in a checkout line and says there's a Ghastly , 90% of the line is gonna pull out their phone and catch it themselves no ? Going to a public park and everyone is playing it and having a good time and helping each other with catches so I see it as a plus for social interaction xP

I've seen many people going outside and meeting tons of new friends because of this game. I'm still wating for an offcial release where I live, and it can be a little annoying to see everybody talking about a game that I still haven't got the chance to try but it looks really fun.

And besides it's the closest thing that is available right now to feel like real life pokemon trainers, and it's obviously not going to replace Sun and Moon later this year, so to me Pokemon Go is just harmless fun.

The only thing I find annoying are 90's parents who are constantly posting about how much they love the app, even though they couldn't stand it back when it all started. I feel like my mom is trying to spite me for my early years. Or maybe all these parents are finally "getting it" in a way?

Eh, I do find it all pretty funny. I also have to admit it's pretty cool to see somethings like Pokemon still going since my childhood, whether old or new fans are enjoying it. I should really try to play more of the app tomorrow.
