Let me know if a thread like this one exist or not.
Thanks a bunches.

Let's say you just finish your long novel, then suddenly you magically get thrown into the world of your story. You are now the main character of your own novel. Since you know the story and the characters all too well, what would you do differently than your own main character?

Enjoy!!!

Actually...I probably wouldn't do anything different. I'm the one who created the situations after all.

Though, I guess I'd just change things around some like I just did to the fanfiction I was working on.

So you would do exactly what your main character does in the story?

I'd like down in a cold field and die. Only option.

I'd know what to do but I couldn't do it.
I'm not physically strong enough.

If I was genre smart about my own stories? I'd probably accept the fact that nobody in these stories lives without pain and unbearable melodrama and start crying in an attempt to beg the author for mercy.

A lot...my current main character is an alcoholic P.I. who may or may not have butchered his own family and I haven't decided on the ending yet so not sure I'd wanna be in his shoes. I'd say step one: give up the drinking...

If that happens, I'm pretty much fucked since all my main characters are unreliable and suffer from various mental problems. They often lack self-awareness so unless I get thrown in as myself, the story will go on as it does and I will meet the same end. Now if I'm thrown in as myself, then the story will have nowhere to go since I'll live a rather normal, boring life.

Become a God and rule over all inferior beings of my own creation...

So, isn't this just sort of Solipsism?

Well my favourite protagonist is usually hard-boiled but goes through a lot of pain/betrayal in the story. I don't like pain/betrayal
