what does crunchyroll think of personality tests?
some people argue it's just as unreliable as star signs, others say its completely different from star signs, and others argue its just for fun. more specifically, there's a personality test that's pretty popular right now called the Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) that categorize personalities into 16 distinct types.

Here's one of the many sites to take the test at for free:

So what's your opinion on these tests? Also, what were your results and do you agree with said results?

EDIT: if this has already been done before feel free to close

It's probably great for those who enjoy diving head first into a silo of manure, and work under the assumption that the exit is somewhere on the bottom. It does not offer anyone aid in their quest to find a job, nor does it offer anyone solution to their obvious identity crisis. It takes personality traits that everyone has to some degree and splits them into dichotomies, then dictate that you are one specific type based on your emotional state at the time you took the test, and amount of knowledge you have accumulated about the types, and based on any number of tests you may have done in the past.

i don't believe it is an entirely accurate representation of a person's personality either, but i do believe it can help someone who is lost get on the right track. there are high schools that make their seniors take these tests (this is how i found out about MBTI) to help them figure out what field they may benefit from getting a job in. it has helped me in this sense and has helped several others in this as well, especially us having been teenagers at the time who didn't understand ourselves much or what we wanted out of life. it isn't perfect but it does have its potential, in my opinion.

ive read others write as well that it has helped them out in the sense that they feel understood within the community of their specific type, and helps them feel not so out of place.

there are also businesses that make potential employees take the test, but I personally believe that's pretty silly since the people applying will obviously answer all of the questions to cater to their employer's demands.

I think it's a decent baseline for anyone who is on a quest to understand themselves better. What they do with that information or how they let it influence their life is entirely up to them. I, personally, find it interesting but it doesn't hold much weight to me. If anything, it has given me probable reasons behind some of my quirks but nothing more than that.

i feel the same way about it.
that's cool that it's helped you give reason to some of your quirks, what's you type? If by any chance you've taken the MBTI test.

I retook the test again just to see if anything would change but as always, no matter where and how many times I take it, I still get the same thing: INTP. In this case it said INTP-A.

Mhmm... Apparently so, but I find that hard to believe since the few times that someone has created a post on these personality types, there have been quite a few who got the same thing.

Nope. Not one like this. The previous ones always asked people to take the test and post what they got. This is different unless you didn't bother to read it.
