It sounds like there's a story behind this. Care to tell?

Yes. I have a love/hate relationship to the sdk.
Programmed some DX9 shit, then i saw online this glorious old DX version with dem graphics.
After much crying and searching i found it.
I installed it, then i started the pirated VCExpress2008(I like dem old versions, need to register but Microsoft removed the site).
BUTT! The fucking code was too old, the chars and LPCWSTRs were incompatible.
So i cried so fucking hard butt then i got a great idea. Download VC++6.0! So i downloader the shit and installed headers and libs.
And the shit compiled :D
But its so fucking different than DX9. MS has made such horrible object oriented code.
But its to beautiful to give up on:

Original MS sample included. Its... wtf.

Another original MS sample, and ufo maybe? wtf

Modified sample 1

Modified sample 2, removed half of the vertices

Arguing or defending your opinion online at all is pointless. You will never win.

Ah, who knows? You just need to know what to say and when to do so. You can knock out your opponent with one perfectly placed sentence. Long discussions are another thing, though.

I love java. I used to be obsessive about how specific it makes things. Although, I'm starting to like the freedom of dynamic languages and Scala. Of course, I dislike System.out.println. When will they let you just say println? Even C#, which is basically Microsoft's Java ripoff, let's you say println.

Of course, I wrote a nifty Java program. Nothing as flashy as graphics. Instead, it finds derivatives of functions and other algebra

C#(J++ and J# is even more ripoff), it has DirectX bindings c:
Console.WriteLine("Potato salad");
System.out.println("shit");
cout << "animu" << endl;
printf("blob\n");
