Ok so a few days ago pokemon go launched in one country with the rest of the world being left out. So people have of course made back up apps and uploaded them onto the web. Well did anyone of you ever think someone could just repack the app with some extra stuff like a virus? Well turns out someone have included included it. Either way you can read more about it below

thoughts about this? Have you downloaded it, why why not. Does this change something for you?

I have downloaded it after my friend told me to. I caught 2 pokemon while driving and last thing he said was this app causes too many wrecks,.

not surprised. criminals will try and find a way to infect people, and the game not being available was the perfect opportunity for them.
apparently low-lifers also used the game to lure victims through "Poke-stops" or whatever those are called.

I was walking my dog like I do every night in my neighborhood and was looking for pokemon. I found a rhydon a geodude and an eevee all in front of one house. I awkwardly caught all 3 of them while standing in front of their driveway but at the time i could only think bout what weird stuff is going on at this house that naturally draws pokemon to it

I got it from the app store. I haven't played much though, mostly only getting pokemon at home or work, or mcdonalds if I am near, its been really hot here so I haven't really been walking around with it much, kinda not sure if I should, usually when I take walks people stop and ask me if I need a ride or just stare at me like I am a freak for walking...

I got it today. I love it, but I don't think I will get addicted to it. Sure, I'll probably do it an hour a day, but not much more.

I've moved this over to the Gaming forum.

Folks. Your responses here should only be related to the question about possible viruses and similar things. Use the other existing Pokemon thread for other discussion about the game:
